Winding down for the evening, I decided to read the latest issue of DJ Mag, which features rising producer/dj Oliver Heldens on the cover.
At only 19 years old, Heldens has been making quite a name for himself with his “future house” sound. While many debate what genre he falls into, overall Heldens creates music that has an upbeat groove with the right bpm that classifies it as some genre of house music.
So whether you call it future house or deep house or UK house, once thing for certain is many (including myself) are becoming fans of Mr. Heldens and his productions. Good stuff! 🙂
He’s got a lot of good tracks such as “Koala” and “Gecko,” and he’s even got a podcast on iTunes, but my favorite track is “Pikachu.”
Perhaps because it pleases my nerdy appetite, “Pikachu” is a quirky dance number with production support from Mr. Belt & Wezol.
Not only does the track speak to all our inner geeks, but it’s a dance floor killer that has received major support from dance heavyweights such as Hardwell, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Bingo Players, Diplo, and many more.
Give it a spin:
