Aren’t you tired of spending hours searching the web for rare collectibles? I mean, sure you can go through thousands of listings on Ebay, Craiglist, and if you’re lucky, find some collectibles on Amazon, but to get to the heart of collecting, you need the ultimate guide.
Introducing: TheCollectionary.com, the ultimate “dictionary of collectibles.”
The Collectionary.com is where awesome stuff belongs, and it has become a massive community for collectors worldwide to share their items in specific “collectors clubs.”
Are you a comic book geek? Whether you are a die-hard Marvel fan or a hate/love it DC Comics fan, one club that is quite popular at the moment (especially with the movie coming out soon) happens to be the Spider-Man Collectionary Club.
Q&A With The Collectionary?
What is “the collectionary?” Why is there a collectionary just for Spider-Man? Can any you find any type of collection on the main site? What makes something a collectable?
So many questions! But to get a better understanding of it, let’s chat with Josh Lohrenz of The Collectionary to get to the root of it all. 🙂
What inspired The Collectionary into existence?
Wonder Woman Collector
I’m not a huge fan of Spider-Man, but I’m really impressed with the collectables out there! And before you jump on me and ask me why I’m not a fan. Well, my heart is taken by another superhero: Wonder Woman.
I’m a geek, one that has an obsession with anything (and everything) associated with Wonder Woman. Why? #1. At 6ft tall, I grew up always being the tall girl who played video games, rough-housed with the boys, and even kick butt in arm wrestling during 4th grade lunchtime. Yeah, I was a serious kid!
And even as an adult, I’m still a mega-fan of Wonder Woman’s persona of strength, beauty, agility, costume, and just all that awesomeness she exudes.
But when it comes to collecting, I’ll admit I have been wanting to step my game up. I’ve already got Wonder Woman coffee mugs, limited edition Converse sneakers, some stationary, and a really awesome throw blanket my mom bought from Amazon (thanks mommy!)
I have a collection, but not a real serious collection (as of yet.) But hey, I’m a graduate student, so I don’t have that big cushy job as a designer yet to afford collecting statues, but one day I will!
And when that day comes, I won’t spend hours on driving myself crazy trying to find unique items, I’ll just head over to The Collectionary and see what they’ve got. Not just Wonder Woman items, but I might even cope a few JLA collectables too. :p
Now It’s Your Turn To Collect
I shared with you my love/obsession for Wonder Woman, but now I want to hear from you! What do you collect? And if you haven’t started a collection, where would you start?
Feel free to share in the comments!
And to all my comic book geeks & superhero fanatics, keep being your awesome selves. Just thought you should know that you rock 🙂
