Awesomesauce | ‘Godzilla’ Teaser Trailer

Yes, yes, yes! Warner Brothers has finally unveiled an official teaser trailer for the forthcoming (hopefully badass) Godzilla.

What is being described as an “epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla,” this film (directed by Gareth Edwards) should be spectacular, perhaps better (or just as good as) Guillermo Del Toro’s kaiju story Pacific Rim.

Sidenote: Pacific Rim was sooooooooo badass! I‘ve seen it 3, maybe 4 or 5 times, and I was on adrenaline high with each fight scene. Gosh, such a good movie!

I’m a big movie buff, especially anything that involves action, sci-fi, adventure, horror, and more action. I remember watching the classic Japanese Godzilla films during my childhood. To be honest, know that I think about it, I’ve been watching foreign films all my life, which explains why I love Asian and Indian cinema.

But when it comes to Japanese films, my introduction to their cinematic culture began with the old school Godzilla movies with random creatures such as Mothra trying to take the kaiju down. Ah, good stuff! And then (as usual) the iconic Godzilla story got an Americanized version.

I’ll never forget the day my mom, dad, my brother, and me went to go see the Godzilla film (the one with Matthew Broderick) at this small theatre in Colorado Springs. We’d been watching the Japanese films, so we all were curious to see what would happen if Godzilla was let loose in New York City. Eh, it wasn’t too bad. Not the best, not the worst.

Well, all I can say that after watching this new teaser trailer for the 2014 Godzilla movie, I’m super stoked! I think this is going to be really good. And even if the plot might not be the best or whatever the case may be, I know we can expect some pretty awesome fight scenes and incredible CGI.

Will you be watching Godzilla on May 16 2014? I know I will! 🙂
