Brilliant Poetry x Visuals | ‘Girls Who Read’ by Mark Grist

I love poetry. Not only do I love poetry, but I have great adoration and admiration for works that implement the conventions of prose and witty imagery to express simple topics, even dating.

In a brilliant performance, poet Mark Grist shares what he wants in a girl. While he loves tits and ass (who doesn’t,) remarkably the one trait he really looks for in a woman is a love for reading. Yes, he seeks a girl that reads.

Now you might be asking yourself, “why would a man want a girl who read?” Well, because girls (like myself) who read are enthralled by the details of books. This excitement we get from reading has a way of enhancing our vocabularies, creating a great query of words waiting to be juxtaposed into witty banter.

Reading makes you a better person. It does. And I’ve found that when it comes to dating, I’ve had some remarkable experiences with men who read versus guys who can’t stand the sight of books. The guys who are love spending hours in Barnes & Noble are able to journey through my mind and spark new conversations of literatury-proportions. Reading makes for delightful conversations, a heightened sensibility to detail, and it can be sexy curling up in bed reading next to a fellow book-lover; for additional steam, try reading some erotic fiction (Zane.) šŸ˜‰

I could easily ramble on and on about why us girls who read are awesome, but I think Mark Grist best expresses this astonishing truth in his YouTube video.

Experience it for yourself. And if you can not only enjoy this video, but learn something too, then you should learn (or hopefully already know) that a love of reading is an alluring, irresistible, and sexy trait.

P.S. I’m currently reading Malcolm Gladwell’sĀ David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants and it’s such an excellent read! Grab it for your Kindle. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. šŸ™‚
