As a writer I have exposed my readers to my random side, my taste for music, my raw opinions on dating and relationships, and my savvy editorial content. I’ve received a great deal of positive response regarding my written material, yet I’m still faced with other impending issues and concerns.
Writer’s have the ability to change a life with a nicely constructed sentence or an entire essay. Even taking the time to switch out a word for another choice from the Thesaurus can make or break the message. Words are meant to make a statement and I 
know that first hand from the feedback I’ve received regarding my writing style. I may not be a scholar or an award winning journalist, but I am a young black woman with a heart for the world and a laptop with keys waiting for my fingerprints. Ever since I was young I always had a passion for writing papers in school, especially researching a topic in depth and conducting an analysis.
It’s hard to obtain knowledge in life without in depth research.Without those dedicated to writing about their findings, how will the world be aware of the issues? I’m not going to sit here and rant about saving the whales, feed the homeless, and judge those who don’t devote five days out of the week to a world cause. I myself know all to well how busy life can be and wished I had enough time in the day to complete my school work, blog, and commit to a world cause. Yet when I look back at the statement I just wrote, the word “blog” stands out in my mind. I may not be able to volunteer at homeless shelters on a daily basis or send money to children in other countries because I’m a struggling student and I don’t get paid for my writing as of yet, but I realize that I can still touch the world with my blog.
We live in such a vibrant technological society that has the power to connect the world through a computer screen, video games, television, and even smartphones. For those of us who can’t afford to travel around the world and even take trips to different states within our own nation, we do have the power to promote causes through technology. Every aspect of our lives and even those living in undeveloped countries,are subject to either minor or major communication through the usage of a technological invention.
As a writer and a human in this global village called Earth, I have a responsibility to shed light on the world’s issues. If one blogger, one author, one musician, one painter, one scientist, one politician, and one teacher used their talent to spread a cause, the world would be able to hold on and have hope for the sun to shine. If we all work together, especially those of us who may not have access to thousands of dollars to provide aid relief, we can use the power of our words and talents to promote causes in hopes of reaching someone with the necessary means to make a difference on a larger scale.
People have always told me that I have a heart for the world but as I writer I’ve taken that badge for granite. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing about popular culture and I enjoy ranting about my frustrations and revelations involving relationships, but there is more to my voice as a writer. I’ve written some excellent 8-10 page papers for school on serious topics impacting the world, but I haven’t showcased this talent via my blog. I’m more then just a savvy and sassy writer that posts great music and funny stories. I have a heart for the world and I haven’t been fulfilling my duty as an active writer.
The world we live in is filled with lots of good and unthinkable amount of bad. Selfish political agenda’s often disenfranchise the common civilians and an addiction to wealth leaves those in need wandering in the streets. What if we decided to make different decisions in life? What if instead of spending millions of dollars on weapons and defense, we discovered new ways to make fresh water available to all. What if we cut back on the monthly expenses for weave upkeep and sent money to causes in our nation and abroad. What if instead of 
killing each other in our black communities we became a united front and gentrified our own communities. What if instead of starting wars in the streets of America and abroad, we started healing the world and setting aside our self seeking agenda’s. What if one writer decided to devote a post a day to a world cause? What if that one writer banded together with writers across the nation and united they stood in making the world a better place…one blog at a time.
