Organic House: Trickski – “Wilderness”

House has so many different moods it can exemplify. Some songs make you want to laugh, dance, cry, make love, stand up for your beliefs, and experience a range of emotions. But there is some house music that is slow, organic, and deep, which produces a dream-like vibe that transports you into a state of pure relaxation.

I’ve found a lot of music that sort of “peaces” me out, but I will say that Trickski’s “Wilderness” and the “Wilderness (Genius of Time Remix)” are two tracks that ease my mind. Trickski is a music duo from Berlin, and they happen to be on the same label as Fritz Kalkbrenner, Suol Records. The label has quite a few different artists, but one thing they all have in common is a down-tempo and deep approach to the sounds of house. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the dance music scene over in Berlin, but it does appear that a lot of the house artists I like from Germany seem to have this down-tempo vibe.

Trickski has done a track with Fritz Kalkbrenner called “Without You” and it also have that organic house vibe. Essentially when I say organic house, I’m actually referring to music that has an unearthly yet naturalistic vibe that is down-tempo. It’s the type of music you’d listen to while sitting in a minimalistic designed apartment, while staring at an abstract or pop art painting that takes up the entire wall. Sounds like such a chill experience, man…so relaxing.

Trickski has a lot of tracks that will ease your mind, but “Wilderness” is perhaps one of my favorite tracks by them. The Genius of Time remix is a great remix, but the original is still an awesome song to chill out to. The video for the song just promotes that overall relaxation because the video was shot in Cape Town and shows some stunning scenes of the water and windsurfers. I have never tried surfing, but if I could ever learn, then I would eventually want to try my hand at windsurfing. It looks like such a fun activity! Just watching the video for “Wildnerness” will inspire you to either go visit a beach or move somewhere that has a beach in close proximity.

I just love the overall chill atmosphere of organic house and the sounds of Trickski. It’s the perfect soundtrack for those days when life attempts to frustrate me. I can just relax. There is no pressure to get up and dance; the atmosphere is all about thoughts and relaxing, taking in each rhythm moment by moment.
