Awesomesauce | X-Men 1992 Cartoon Intro Stop Motion

xmenBeing tall and all, I’m a huge fan of DC Comics mainly because of Wonder Woman, but I do love Marvel and I’m especially fond of the X-Men. Dude, the X-Men are legit! So many different mutants with insanely cool powers, and you’ve got to admit, the movies are great and all, but nothing beats the classic 1992 cartoon.

Now of course I was born in 91, but as a kid I did enjoy watching the X-Men all the way until it’s finale in 97′. That show was so good! X-Men cartoon was not only cool because each of the characters, but the intro was very cool and this new stop motion video makes it even cooler! Have you seen it? Well if you haven’t seen it, then watch it below. The video is by Kyle Roberts and his buddies, and the entire video took 4,000 stills and 60 backgrounds. Wow, a lot of work! But the result is a huge payoff and the video is making its way around the web and reminding folks of how much we craved Saturday Morning cartoons.

Awesomesauce | Delta Heavy – ‘Get By’ (Stop-Motion, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Knives, & Dubstep)

When listening to dubstep, do you ever daydream about taking classic games (ya know, boardgames and such) and destroying them with a knife? Well, perhaps you’re a sane individual and don’t spend your time daydreaming about hacking and slashing precious hungry hungry hippos.

But apparently, someone out there had the ingenious idea that slicing, dicing, and smashing classic games would be a blast, especially if you paired it with the art of stop-motion and the tantalizing sounds of dubstep. Stop-motion is always awesomesauce in my opinion, especially if done right. But the thought of stop-motion being paired with destroying games I used to play as a child and the sounds of dubstep was a concept that I’ve never thought of yet.

Who could come up with such an idea? Oh yeah, that’s right, Delta Heavy is the one who showed us that fusion stop-motion, boardgames, and dubstep=awesomesauce. Delta Heavy’s latest music video, “Get By,” shows us how awesome it is to smash (it’s sort of like a full-on massacre) and cut up hungry hungry hippos and other games while listening to the edgy sound of dubstep. Honestly, need I say more? This video speaks for itself. Like I mentioned earlier, this video is the accumulation of awesomesauce. It’s epic awesomesauce. LOL

Epic Stop Motion | Autobots vs. Decepticons & Street Fighter: Ryu vs. Ken

Have you ever heard of Kreo Transformers? Perhaps you haven’t heard of the word “Kreo” being used in the same sentence with Transformers, but I’m sure you know what legos are. As I child I absolutely loved playing with legos, but my joy was also playing with Poly Pocket & Barbies. Yet I always had a spot in my heart for legos, and from time to time I love playing the Indiana Jones & Batman lego games on Ps3.

Legos are pretty awesome, but what’s even more awesome than plain old legos is latest stop-motion filmed created by an animator & comic fan from Taiwan. The short film uses the Kreo Transformers and it’s an epic battle between the Autobots & Decepticons.

The video is a little over 3 minutes long, but you’ve got to give this guy props for his skills. Stop-motion isn’t a breeze, it’s hard, tedious, and a long process that involves precision with every move. You can actually go visit the guy’s blog and see the in depth description he provides with the behind-the-scenes of how he put the film together. Click here to check it out. He actually has a lot of stop-motion films under the name of Counter 656 Productions, so visit his YouTube page to see even more awesome stop-motion.

It’s very cool to see a photographic breakdown of how he compiled all the pieces and some of the feature shots, but the final product is where the magic really takes place. If you happen to be a Transformers fan, then I’m sure you’ll love this awesome stop-motion film. It’s a battle of the Autobots vs. Decepticons. Hmmm, I wonder who wins…. lol jk, come on now, you already know what time it is. Autobots!

Oh, I also ran across this Street Fighter Stop Motion, so check it out too! Man, both of these videos are just epic!

Awesomesauce: Super Mario Beads 2

Yeah, I’m team Ps3, but for life I will always and forever be a fan of Super Mario. It’s just one of the most epic-awesomesauce games ever created! It may not be complex with a bunch of shooting, but it’s strategy will have you wanting to thrust the controller across the room. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve thrown my controller, then sulked across the room, picked it up, and spent another few hours in a haze of tedious concentration, infused with anger, followed by the joy of seeing the adorable toadstools.

Super Mario N64 is probably my favorite of all time, but I do love the classic Super Mario Bros. as well. It’s such an iconic character when it comes to gaming, so it’s nice that it will be a reference that will never get old. Man, I can’t even imagining having kids way down the line and trying to explain to them who Mario is. Wow, that’s going to be interesting! I’ll just have to immerse my kids in a gaming history lesson and explain to them that toadstools are the cutest characters ever incorporated in a video game. Or, maybe I’ll just sit down and show them a bunch of viral videos that show how epic Mario is.

If I had to choose a viral video that shows how awesomesauce Mario is, then I’d be a fool not to show Super Mario Beads 2. Have you guys seen it? It’s the latest viral sensation in the gaming/technology community right now. It’s basically a stop-motion video made by Marcus and Hannes Knutsson, and it thrusts Mario into the real world environment. It’s an exuberant video that includes the iconic Mario theme song, and it just inspires me to continue being creative. I love when people have abstract ideas and bring them to life. Watching this video inspires me to go pick up my camera and start actually filming my television show idea. I must create! Perhaps I will even dabble in some stop-motion, but I doubt it would ever be as epic as Super Mario Beads 2.

Check out pure awesomesauce below. Dude, you can’t ever go wrong with stop-motion and Mario. When it comes to creativity, anything Mario related doesn’t have to abide by the laws of nature. Imagination is totally free to run wild, especially if you throw in some adorable toadstools!

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Every now and then I’ll turn to VH1 late night and check out the music videos. Last night while exiting a show from DVR, I saw a beautiful music video. Paint was being splashed everywhere and this stop motion technique amplified the song. At the end of the video, the words “Coldplay” appeared on the bottom left of the screen. I knew it was Coldplay, but wasn’t sure.

Coldplay is one of those groups that has the ability to create beautiful songs. A majority of the songs by Coldplay contain this majestic vibe and you can’t help but listen. I’ve been a fan of Coldplay for awhile now. My favorite songs by them are “Talk,” “Viva la Vida,” and “Clocks.” There honestly isn’t a song by Coldplay I hate and their new song “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” is yet another lovely song by them.

I could sit here and discuss the context of the song and the video, but I think it would be easier if you saw for yourself. So check out the new video for Coldplay’s song “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” and don’t be shocked if you get inspired to throw bright colors of paint around. Let me go grab my canvas!
