Yet again, SS Radio UK has blessed my ears with an insatiable “unreleased” tune. This time, it’s a free track from Flashmob called “Sometimes” and it’s the type of song that is certified to make you dance!
The track was released courtesy of Annie Mac’s soundcloud and the weekly ritual of Free Music Mondays. Of course today is Saturday, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get your feigning hands on some delicious house.
Peep the delicious track below, download it, and begin groovin’ your ass off to the deep bass and the gritty soulful vocals of “Sometimes.”
It’s songs like this track that make me proud to be a house junkie. Not only is the bass a certified banger, but the lyrics are awesome! I believe the track is a sample from the classic Motown song, but the house version by Flashmob is the type of song that makes me dance all night long to the sun comes out. Songs like this give me a reason to smile.
I went on a hardcore search for a good pair of good, yet inexpensive, headphones and I ended up at TJ Maxx. The TJ Maxx on University Blvd is huge and it’s connected to a Home Goods, so it was so much fun browsing the racks for some active wear to hit the gym with. Once I got to the line, I found some great Skullcandy Chop Headphones, and now I’m enjoying my day listening to some good house.
So what am I listening to right now? I’m getting lost in the latest episode of SS Radio UK show Seamless Sessions, and the mix starts right off with the newest release from Hot Natured & Ali Love called ” Benediction.”
The track is a subtle, yet sexy house groove that has soulful vocals and a beat that is perfect for a sunny day of relaxation. And the track was the perfect choice to start off the latest episode of Seamless Sessions.
Trust me, if you haven’t subscribed to the free podcasts of SS Radio UK, then you are really missing out on the latest (as well as favorites) in house. So many shows for gospel house, deep house, soulful house, funky house, and much more!
Alright folks, so there ya have it. Peep out the new release from Hot Creations by Hot Natured x Ali Love — “Benediction.”
I love funky house music! I just love that feeling when a funky house track takes over your body, and you can’t resist the urge to just get down right funky! Okay, let me stop. There is definitely a lot of funk in the funk in the funk disco groovin’ going on in this post.
My whole point is, I love a deep house track that has that funky vibe, which is why I’m totally jamming to Kraak & Smaak’s latest release “Hold Back Love.” You may have the urge to hold back love, but you surely can’t hold back the funk when this groovy tune comes on.
The track features the vocals of Lex Empress, and the remix by Lovebirds takes this track to new heights. I’m a huge fan of Lovebirds, so whenever I see their name associated with a track I know it’s going to be some amazing house music ready to pump through my body. And I was totally right! I heard this track on the latest SS Radio UK podcast and once I saw the tracklist, I had to track it down because it’s a Lovebirds remix.Well, that wasn’t the only reason I hunted down the track; I’ve been a huge fan of Kraak & Smaak for years.
Kraak & Smaak are currently artists (the trio consists of Netherlands producers Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug) on Jalapeno Records, a UK record label home to some amazing dance & house music. It’s nice to see a label devoted to such good music, and I’m glad that Kraak & Smaak are able to stay true to their voice, and not being forced to conform. So many labels out now have a bunch of artists that sound the same, and often the originality seems to get lost. But Kraak & Smaak have proved anything with their EP Electric Hustle, they have proved that they will always bring the best in experimental funk, house music, and electronica.
No club bangers for them, just some amazing house that is enough to get you moving, grooving, and screaming “hallelujah!” If you haven’t peeped Electric Hustle (it was released last year,) then be sure to check out some of the tracks on YouTube. It’s a nice mixture of house, funk, and electronic music that you should totally add to your playlist.

So today I decided to revisit a piece of fiction I was working on. Writers tend to have a variety of projects they work on sporadically, so I go back and forth between my fiction book to my non-fiction book. Both of them are essentially complete, but they have lots of revisions that need to be made. So I’m taking the day off from my non-fiction book, and I’m getting lost in my fictional characters.
The guy in the apartment downstairs is being such a jerk today and is blasting this insanely loud crappy hip-hop (apparently his sound system must be cheap.) It just sounds so bad! It’s not like I’m going to go downstairs and yell at him( I’m not that type of person,) so I’d rather just put my headphones on and listen to SS Radio UK.
SS Radio UK has so many great shows, but right now I’m listening to Strictly House Session December 15th episode. The show starts off with this catchy song called “Try Me.” The original track is pretty sick, but the Jedset Walk N Reprised remix is hands down the best. DJ/Producer/Re-mixer Yohan Esprada did such an excellent job with this track featuring the vocals of Lorena. It’s a perfect song for a cloudy day like today, a cup of coffee, and typing away for hours on my Macbook Pro.
I love a good deep house track that has dreamlike synths and an upbeat chorus that keeps your mind, body, and soul grooving to the beat. “Try Me (Jedset Walk N Reprised)” is a nice track that has great piano chords, a sax wailing in the background, and a minimal percussion vibe.
Check out the track below.
