I’ve been living without cable for the past few weeks, so as the DirectTV guy is setting up everything, I figured I’d go ahead and watch SNL on Hulu. I didn’t get to watch last night’s episode with Jamie Foxx, but my mom called me and told me it was hilarious, so I made sure to catch it this morning.
If you didn’t watch the episode, then be sure to check it out. Jamie Foxx is hilarious, but we already know that. If anything, from his career on my favorite classic sketch show, In Living Color, and his own show, The Jamie Foxx Show, we have known since the 90s that he is a seriously funny dude! So it was amazing to see him on SNL doing his thing and actin’ a fool.
They had a big selection of skits that were funny. A consistent theme throughout the night was game show parodies. The first game show was “Bitch What’s the Answer?” in which Foxx asks vague questions and wants the contestants, the bitches, to answer. It was pretty funny, but the second game show really caught my attention. It basically had Foxx, Thompson, and Pharoah as black contestants who couldn’t figure out the difference between Dylan McDermott and Dermott Mulroney. The whole joke was that black people think they are the same guys, but it was offensive in my opinion because the guys do have confusing simliar names and features.
The other sketches such as a Tree Pimp and even the J-Pop one was okay, but I never usually like that sketch. But Foxx looked pretty funny in his outfit. But the best outfit of the night? His hilarious take on Tyler Perry and Madea in a spoof of Alex Cross. That was hella funny! Major LOL moments.
Peep some of the sketches from below. Oh and in the Maine Justice skit we have a surprise visit from one of my favorite people. Want a hint? He’s a cast member of Always Sunny in Philly who stalks a waitress and he hosted the show in October 2011. Shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
Man, this post is so late! I meant to write about SNL a few days ago, but I was on the road traveling. Luckily, the hotel we stayed in on Saturday night had cable, so I was able to see the last few sketches of the night. And from what I saw, it seemed as though Bruno Mars did an awesome job; not only is he an insanely talented singer, but he is incredibly hilarious!
Normally I’d go into great detail about all the sketches, but since this post is super late, I’m just going to post the videos from the episode.
All of the sketches were pretty funny, but the one that stood out the most was the sketch that shows us what happens when Pandora channels crash. So what happens? Well Bruno Mars steps in, playing the role of an intern, and sings the missing parts of songs from artists such as Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, and many more! It’s a hilarious sketch that you totally must watch, but sadly NBC took the sketch off the web due to copyright issues. So basically, they are acting as if the sketch never happened. SMH.
So you can’t watch that sketch, but you still can watch some of the other ones that Bruno Mars starred in. And aside from the Bruno Mars sketches, be sure to check out the Cold Opening and the Brad Pitt commercials.
I’m not sure how the trend of taking childhood shows and turning them into hilarious comedy sketches geared towards an “adult” audience happened, but I’m truly enjoying this trend. I almost died laughing when I saw live-action The Rugrats movie trailer and then the Hey Arnold movie trailer was a home-run with it’s depiction of Helga and her stalker tendencies.
Live-action depictions of childhood shows never get old, so I was especially pleased that College Humor decided to do a live-action fake movie trailer for Dora The Explorer. I’ve always made fun of that show and the simplicity of the question she asks, especially when the answers be so friggen obvious. She be like, “Do you see the bridge?” I’m like, bitch, it’s right behind you! Geeze, stop asking me if I see the damn bridge. LOL
You can’t do a movie trailer for Dora The Explorer unless you include Swiper, so of course he makes an appearance as the main antagonist in the story. Oh and of course, Diego is there too. And might I mention, he looks kind of hot. LOL
The comedy sketch stars Ariel Winter from Modern Family and it actually looks like it would be a hilarious full-length film.

This weekend was a blast! I saw The Avengers Friday night at midnight and a Saturday matinee. It was so good I surely had to go see it twice. If you haven’t seen in, then you should totally go watch it! Great comedy, lots of action, and a surprise ending after the credits.
I planned on going on dancing last night, but instead I stayed home and did final papers and watched Saturday Night Live. The episode last night was hosted by Peyton Manning’s brother Eli (sorry, but he will always be known to me as Peyton’s brother.) I know he has a football career of his own, but usually it seems that Peyton is always in the limelight.
Sharing the spotlight most be hard, so it was nice to see Eli do his version of Peyton’s 2007 SNL skit Little Brothers.
Little Brothers
The Little Brothers skit was pretty funny, but I truly enjoyed the Amazon Mother’s Day Ad. I’ve heard so much about this book, Fifty Shades of Grey, and how it’s supposed to be extremely “steamy.” Haha, but of course SNL took it to the extreme and showed the mother trying to “pleasure” themselves but they kept getting interrupted by their family trying to surprise them with gifts they bought from Amazon.com. It was well played!

The skits above were my favorite from the night, but the others weren’t too bad either. Below I’ve posted some of the other skits that you may (or may not) find funny. Oh, and Herb Welch (ya know, the horrible reporter guy) made an appearance in one of his news skits. LOL I love how he always dies, then comes back and beats the camera with the mic.
