For the first time in a very long time, I actually have a social life. Not quite sure what happened, but I’m pretty sure it has to do with the fact that summer is here, I’m about to graduate college, and I actually have transportation. I mean of course you can easily get around in the DMV via train and bus, but having a car does make it easier for me to get to folks outside of moco.
Summer is basically here and I’ve already kicked it off by doing some fun things. I saw Reggie Watts in concert, Miguel Migs @ U Street Music Hall, and I even went Rock Climbing @ Earth Trek in Rockville, MD. Let me just, rock climbing was amazing! It basically cost 25 bucks to climb three different walls, but it was still a blast. I’m not terrified of heights, so it wasn’t super scary. I definitely plan on going again this summer.
Every weekend has been a blast so far and I’ve really enjoyed hanging out with my good friend. I’m also anxious to hang out with my boyfriend this weekend and give him a tour of D.C. Nothing crazy, just hitting the zoo, the museums, maybe dancing a little, and of course grabbing some frozen yogurt (I got him hooked on it.)
My goal is explore D.C. as much as I can, but this summer isn’t just limited to exploring Washington, D.C. I plan on going on some road trips, visiting the beach, playing paintball, laser tag, and going to some amusement parks. I’m going to try to have as much fun as possible, even working on some film and photography projects. I just want to capture every single moment and create some Facebook worthy pictures to remember the summer.
If I can actually save up enough money then I would even go on a cruise at the end of the summer. But that isn’t set in stone yet, so for now it’s all speculation. But at least I’m trying to piece together my plans and come up with a great summer filled with exploration and trying new things. So if you notice sometimes I don’t blog for a few days, then it’s because I’m out and about exploring the DMV and the East Coast. But don’t worry, I’ll still come back and share my experiences with you guys. Especially when I find good music.
Cheesy, but the perfect song to think of summer….lol

I know I’ve been slacking off on blogging lately, but the good news is my book is coming along very well! It can get addicting when your writing a book and you begin to get wrapped up in the characters. Creative writing is a fun world to escape into, but beware the hours can fly by. For instance, after watching "I Shouldn’t Be Alive" last night I decided to work on my book for an hour and then get some rest. Well that hour turned into me staying up till 3am and getting caught up in a scene in which my character confronts an old flame. Drama!!
My book is a romantic comedy mixed with Confession of a Shopaholic, Jerome Dickey sensuality, ghetto street book, and some nerdy video game lingo. I know it sounds like a lot but in actuality it’s blending very well and so far it’s a good read. I’ve only let my mom hear bits of pieces of it .
While working on this second book, I realized that I haven’t marketed my first book "Think Soul 25:Thoughts of an Urban Nomad" and need to do a major rewrite, new cover, and market it in different venues. Createspace through Amazon is an exceptional platform for writers, filmmakers, musicians, and other creative people that have a voice and a product to sell. You can even get your work featured in Barnes and Nobles, which is awesome! I will write a post about Createspace and Zazzle as well.I need to start bringing in more money and I have some products that will sell great on Zazzle.
The reason I need more money and want to start saving is because of my bucket list. I created one of those "things to do before I die" list when I was 16 years old and just discovered it yesterday. I need to do more out there things! Now I’m not talking about going and living a crazy life 24/7, but I do mean trying things and making goals. Life can become so dull when you just live it day to day and don’t make an effort to explore. God created so many beautiful places in this world, including nature, the wonders of the world, and even giving man the comprehension to build cities. Why spend my entire life living in one place and not seeing anything at all?
As Think Soul 25, The Urban Nomad, I need to step up my nomadic game and what better way to do that then with a Bucket List.I’ve gone on road trips back and forth across the United States, but I still haven’t seen anything in this country and across the world as well. I’m getting my passport before my birthday on April 25th and plan on traveling somewhere in the summer. Not sure where I’m going but I know that I will have a blast. Having someone who loves to be adventurous and try new things is amazing! My parent’s are getting older and I’ve moved beyond the days of taking trips with them. Now it’s like hey guys I’m going to New York for the weekend I will text ya guys along the way. As long as your safe and let people know where you are, there is nothing wrong with being adventurous and taking a leap of faith and hitting life with full force.
My bucket list is at 152 items so far and by summer I’m sure I will have completed the basics. Get my passport, ride a big roller coaster (I’ve only rode a medium one and water rides), get a tattoo, play paintball, fly overseas, go to Virginia Beach, gamble in Atlantic city, drink shots (never done that before but eh might as well try it once), and spend the night dancing away. Amongst that I have other things to do like visit Smithsonian (been there plenty of times but still want to go again, not really on my bucket list), go to SeaWorld, eat calamari, hold a baby lion, and try duck. I’ve eaten octopus and it tastes really good, at least try it once before you knock it.
There are so many things I want to accomplish and places I want to spend the night at. I want to kiss on top of the Eiffel Tower, spend hours in Louvre, pretend karate fight in front of the Colosseum, hike the Appalachian trail, swim with dolphins, go to a red carpet even, own a ball gown, have a picnic on the beach, and own a publishing company. No matter how big or small the goal is, write it down! Life is to short to live inside the box and I don’t even like boxes, I live outside the circle.
I hope this post helps those who are bored with life and looking for some excitement. Make a list and you will be bound to accomplish things a lot sooner. I even have simple things as take ball room dance lessons, tap dance, cook lobster dinner, see 5 broadway plays, go on a cruise, and have a beautiful artsy wedding. Whatever you want to do in life then do it and make the memories last! I plan on filmming some of my new adventures and taking my vlog more serious. So do stay tuned for more journeys of this urban nomad, I’m steppin’ up my nomad game!
Peace for now!
