Step aside, The Magician is back with your monthly dosage of pure magic. That’s right, Magic Tape 33 is here!
Can you ID any of the tracks? I sure can’t! But I’m digging this mix.
After fighting through 2 hours of traffic and maneuvering my way out of 495′s rush hour nightmare, I’m finally well-feed (big salad for dinner,) relaxed and able to blog before heading to bed. There are many things I’d love to post at this moment, but I’ll have to take care of that in the morning. So shall we finish the night off with some rare Gomma classics remixed by Jacques Renalt? Yes, we shall.
Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer Jacques Renalt has released a delicious 60-minute mix for Gomma Records, a Germany-based label who’s Moullinex, Mercury, and a handful of artists that produce house and other variants of EDM.
The mix, 100% Gomma, takes some of the rare 12 inch tracks and gives them a fresh new facelift. Jacques Renalt surely knows what he’s doing and this mix is a smooth, boogie-infused ride.

It’s Monday afternoon and it’s such beautiful day here in SoCal. Yesterday I had the chance to go rock climbing/hiking (no ropes involved, just climbing over big rocks to the top of a mountain,) and today I’m letting my muscle relax. So what better to relax than jamming to some beautiful house music mixed by Tensnake.
Last week, house producer extraordinaire, Tensnake, uploaded his new BBC Essential Mix to his soundcloud page. And all I can say is wow, it’s beautiful! Yes, beautiful.
The mix is the perfect collection of delightful house tracks that are tech, deep, soulful, and filled with hints of pulsating bass worth grooving too. Oh, and it’s a free download.

I love mixes. I used to create mixtapes for friends, and my first boyfriend was a big fan of music, so I made mixtapes for him. It was something sweet I enjoyed doing, but since then I haven’t really dated a guy that was into music as much as I am (ugh, need to find more artsy/musical guys.) But maybe I’ll meet a guy sooner or later who will spark my desire to start making mixes again. Come to think of it, either way, I do need to start making mixes just for the hell of it and I want to learn how to DJ too…
But I digress, sorry for that little departure! Just felt like sharing.
Anyways, on the topic of mixes, Treasure Fingers has released a new podcast/mix that is certified awesome. The Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer has dropped a DJ Weekly Podcast for DJ Mag and it’s an explosive mix with some great tracks; momentum from cut to cut.
Grab your free download and start jamming right away! Also, be sure to peep out some of my favorite tracks from the mix.

Not sure how it happened, but I found myself really beginning to get anxious for monthly mixtape series. I love mixtapes, and I really like when a producer pumps them out on a monthly basis; gives me something to look forward to.
So along with following The Magician and listening to his Magic Tape series, I’ve also been a huge fan of Aeroplane’s monthly mixes. He was on a hiatus for quite some time, but in August he came back with a great mix. So how about a September mix? Well, we didn’t get that, but he just released an October 2012 Mix.
The Not-So-Monthly October 2012 Mix is perhaps “late,” but it’s still jam packed with some great tracks. If you love Aeroplane and his last mix, as well as his remixes, then you’ll love the track selection for this mix. See if you can identify some of the tracks. And if not, don’t worry, Aeroplane included a list of all the songs. So you don’t have to search the earth for hours trying to find the pleasure to your ears; the track list is already done for you.
Be sure to stay tuned for more from Aeroplane and pay close attention to his new single, “In Her Eyes” featuring Jamie Principle. The song will be released on Aeroplane’s new label, Aeropop, and you can get your hands on the EP Nov 5th. The mix below features the Tiger & Woods Remix, which should be on the EP as well.

1. Mayer Hawthorne – No Strings ( RAC Remix )
