SNL | The Californians, Lazy Sunday 2, Comedy Tour 3, & More!

I usually post the clips from SNL on Sunday mornings/afternoon, but the past few days have been so busy (which I will blog about.) But I finally got around to watching some of the clips from the episode, and I was glad to see that they ended the season by bringing back The Californians, Lazy Sunday, and The Comedy Tour.

Of course, the ending of the episode was sad because Kristin Wigg announced she would be leaving the cast, but in the end it’s probably good for her. She’s been really making a name for herself as an actress, so I’m sure she will get more movie roles and be that go-to funny girl in Hollywood. But I will admit that I’m going to miss her doing some of her iconic characters, and she also does a great Californian. So I’m glad they decided to do another Californian skit and Kristin Wigg got a chance to shine one last time.

The episode was hosted by Mick Jagger and overall it was a pretty good season finale. And of course, the digital short Lazy Sunday 2 made my day. They always rap about the most random stuff, and this time they talked about seeing Sister Act on Broadway. Even threw in a little dubstep.

Best Performances from the 2011 American Music Awards

I may listen to a lot of music from around the world, but I would never miss the American Music Awards. Every year they have a wide variety of great performances, and I always tell myself “Wow, if only the BET Awards could actually have an unlimited budget.” Seriously, the staging, lighting, and digital effects at the American Music Awards are usually way better than most award shows. The performances last night were phenomenal; good music combined with amazing stage production is what brought a lot of the performances to life.

When the show first came on I sat there with my mom and mentioned all the performers we knew would have to perform that evening, and of course we were right when we both said LMFAO has to be there. You can’t have American Music Awards with LMFAO. They’ve done so much in the music scene and “Party Rock Anthem” will never die! So you know I was stoked that the awards show ended with their performance, and it was awesome seeing Hawk and Ryan Confidero up there killing it. Like I’ve said in the past, my brother Jamile McGee was on “So You Think You Can Dance?” so he knows a lot of dancers in the industry and has worked with many celebs. It still blows my mind that he used to chill and play videogames with Miguel! But I digress. It was just uber cool seeing LMFAO perform and it was fun shufflin’ around the living with my mom. Oh, even Justin Bieber got on stage and shuffled with LMFAO, so I definitely had to give Bieber props.

LMFAO ended the show, but throughout the night there were some great performances. I love David Guetta, so I wasn’t even hating on Nicki Minaj’s performance. It was even funny she almost fell a few times when accepting her awards. Her performance was okay, but it was way better than Jennifer Lopez’s horrible first performance. The only thing that saved J.Lo last night was an amazing performance with Will.I.am. They debuted a sick new song called “T.H.E.” and it featured Mick Jagger. The technology during that performance alone was enough to blow your mind, as well as Chris Brown’s high-tech digitally stunning performance. Of course Katy Perry, One Republic, Pit Bull, and the other artists had some good performance, but my top favorites were: LMFAO, Chris Brown, J.Lo & Will.i.am, Enrique Iglesias and David Guetta with Nicki Minaj (only because the beat was hot and he killed it.)

Can You Move Like Jagger?

Seriously, Maroon 5 can never do any wrong in my eyes. I don’t usually attribute that affirmative statement to a lot of music out nowadays, but I can gladly stand behind Maroon 5 and Dave Matthews Band. Those are two bands that always tease my ears with timeless, effortless, and illustrious music.

Not only is Maroon 5 an amazing band, they have one of the hottest lead singers. Adam Levin is so sexy and his voice is even sexier. It should be a sin for a man to be that sexy, seriously, his level of enticing handsomeness is beyond words. He happens to be one of my celebrity crushes, every time he comes on television I have to bit my lips. It’s ridiculous how sexy he is! But aside from his charming looks, it’s obvious that his voice is clearly exceptional and off the charts.

I enjoyed watching Adam on The Voice and I was glad to see him showing off his eccentric tattoos and quirky dance moves in Maroon 5′s new music video “Moves Like Jagger.” The video came out yesterday and the song takes a retro direction. It begins with classic footage of Mick Jagger, the iconic singer from the Rolling Stones, talking about his plans to make music. Following the legendary footage of Mick Jagger, the video turns into a mash-up of people trying to dance like Jagger.

Anyone who knows a little something about the Rolling Stones or Mick Jagger, knows that Jagger is known for his outlandish yet contagious dance. He has this way of thrusting his legs, twitching his body, and clapping his hands in this quirky yet cool manner. You can’t talk about Mick Jagger without mentioning his dance moves and embarrassing yourself while attempting to move like Jagger.

I know from watching the video that the dancers had fun trying to move like Jagger. Have you ever tried to move like Jagger? It’s a lot of fun just throwing on some music and trying to move like him. Yet this song is more than just moving like Jagger, so take a listen to the lyrics and enjoy the video. Christina Aguilera is even on the track belting out with her amazing vocals and she looks good in this video.

Check out the video for Maroon 5′s “Move Like Jagger” and if you’re a fan of Maroon 5, then I’m sure you’ll love it. Or perhaps, you’re just a fan of Adam Levine; he is quite the epitome of scrumptious eye candy. LOL
