Viva La Música | The Languages of Pop -Tons of Awesome International Pop Music Videos

20120627_seoulbeats_superjunior1In the spirit of it being the holidays and all, I figured hey why not share with you guys something different than house music. As you all know I love me some house, but ever since middle school I’ve been intrigued by international pop music. Even if I don’t understand the lyrics, I love K-Pop, J-Pop, French pop music, Latin pop, and so many other languages of pop music.

Of course, from the picture above of Super Junior, I’m sure you can guess that I really dig me some K-Pop. A bunch of hot guys, cool videos, and insanely cool dance moves. Hey, what’s not to like? Predictable at times, but I still love the variety of sets and video concepts. That is always changing, but you can at least expect some huge random choreography (but it is usually good.)

Super Junior is just one of the many international pop artists that I dig. I’ve got a wide musical range, and I’d love to take a moment to share with you some of my favorite music videos from the genre of pop around the world. So sit back and get ready to dive into a world of foreign languages. The only language I do understand is French since I did take it in HS and college. But everything else I’m clueless about, but the music is still really good!

The power of good music truly transcends language barriers, which is why artists (such as Madonna,) can have tours in foreign countries and even though the audience might not speak or understand English, they still love her music. But who doesn’t love Madonna? She is awesome! :)

EXO-K – History

Super Junior – Sexy, Free, & Single

TVXQ – Catch Me

2NE1 – Don’t Stop The Music

Christophe Willem – Cool

PW – Wanna Be Yours

Shinee – Sherlock

GIRLS’ GENERATION – Flower Power

Super Junior – Bonamana

Billy on the Street | “You Look Really Good (For You)”

I’ve never been a big fan of game shows & trivia (except for the occasional Jeopardy,) but lately I’ve really been enjoying Billy on the Street. If you don’t have Fuse.tv on your cable/satellite programming, then you probably haven’t seen the show. But fret not, because since it’s a Funny or Die program, you can always catch up and watch clips over at their site.

So now that you know how to watch the show, lets get back to talking about what the show is all about. Basically it’s a pop culture trivia show and the host, Billy Eichner, is this quirky, rude, snippy, and often extremely sassy guy who asks random New Yorkers pop culture related questions.

His overall attitude is what makes the show funny in my opinion. I especially love when he is plays the 3-Question game and the answers are subjective. So basically if he asks you who is a better singer, Madonna, Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry, your answer doesn’t matter unless its something Billy would chose. So if he hates Katy Perry and you chose her, then he will get upset and be like “Ugh, why would you chose her?!” LOL, it’s funny watching him get upset.

Usually the trivia questions are enough to make the sure worth watching, but the latest episode included a spoof of James Blunt’s song “You’re Beautiful.” That is one of those songs that received a lot of YouTube parodies, but I think I love Billy Eichner’s version the best. He uses the same melody, but the song is called “You Look Really Good (For You.)” No need to explain the song, because the title speaks for itself; some people just look really good for who they are….lol

Watch the video below & check out some clips from Billy on the Street. If you like trivia or a sassy guy talking to random New Yorkers, then check out the show. The odd reactions & random New Yorkers are enough to keep you laughing.

Jessie J | “Domino” Official Music Video

2011 is almost over, but that doesn’t mean artists can’t pump out new music videos. I’m sure a lot of artists, and well people, have a lot of things to do before 2011 ends. Sometimes you’ve got some lose ends to tie before the year is over, or perhaps an adventure you’d like to go on before 2012 hits. Whatever the case may be, one thing I do know is that British pop star Jessie J decided to release her music video for “Domino” in the past few days.

I enjoyed seeing Jessie J perform “Domino” on the VH1 Divas Special, but I’m definitely enjoying the music video. The 23-year-old pop star is showing off her vibrant personality and wearing a bunch of outside-the-box outfits. It’s Jessie J, so you know she wasn’t going to do a video that was “normal.” Some people say Jessie J is trying to be like Katy Perry, Katy Perry is trying to be like Lady Gaga, and Lady Gaga is trying to be like Madonna. Eh, everyone copies off each other or is inspired. That’s just how creativity works.

Whether Jessie J is like a British Katy Perry or not, one thing I do know is that she has a better voice than Katy Perry (and I like Katy Perry!) “Domino” is such an awesome song, and it makes me feel so girly. I just want to go skip around and sing about how awesome a guy makes me feel. Ah, step one: Run into an awesome guy that can “spin me out of control.” Yup, sounds like awesomesauce.

Ah, I love this song!
