Pure Bliss | Flight Facilities x Emma Louise – ‘Two Bodies’

Normally, I’d sit here and write a few blurbs (or more if I’m ranting) about music and culture, but for this post the words have already been provided on behalf of Emma Louise.

I’m talking about the illusive, magnetic, and compelling lyrics that Emma Louise sings in Flight Facilities new single, “Two Bodies.”

Read the lyrics and be sure to watch the video for this intoxicating single that you can listen to on Flight Facilities’ debut album, Down To Earth.

“Two Bodies”

I didn’t understand it at the time. I fail to achieve any degree of understanding in the ensuing years, which are three in number. I presume Herb means that inherently you cannot be commercial and artistic. You cannot be commercial and quality. You cannot be commercial concurrent with have a preoccupation with the level of storytelling that you want to achieve. And this I have to reject. I don’t think calling something commercial tags it with a kind of an odious suggestion that it stinks, that it’s something raunchy to be ashamed of. I don’t think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what’s wrong with that?
As long as you are not ashamed of anything you write if you’re a writer, as long as you’re not ashamed of anything you perform if you’re an actor, and I’m not ashamed of anything.
This is the area I know. But I think innate in what Herb says is the suggestion made by many people that you can’t have public acceptance and still be artistic. And, as I said, I have to reject that.

Just two bodies
Just two bodies

I’ve been so ready to dim my mind

Come over or not, I’ve
Been so ready to dim my mind
Your body a drug, for mine
Two bodies moving in
Time and space to try and heal me
I know what I want, so come over and

Hold me, I won’t ask for anything more
I’m hurting, use now when I’m vulnerable
It helps me fake some love for a little while
I know what I want, so take advantage of me

You’re closed, you’re a book. No lines
Can’t read you if I try
And if that’s the way you want it
That’s fine I’ll just close my eyes and
Try to ignore you, a free ride for you to

Just two bodies
Just two bodies

Deep x Dark | Origins Sound – ‘Eyesdown’

I love me some deep house, but sometimes I want it to not only be deep, but many things at once: deep, dark, tech, etc. Continue reading Deep x Dark | Origins Sound – ‘Eyesdown’

Winter Marsh

Yet another assignment from school. This one is from Creative Writing, and it was an assignment that required me to use colors, a season, a question, transportation, and sheer creativity! :)

Hues of gray, white, black, and caramel brown,
Hints of mellow shades of blue cascading down the canvas.
Portrait defined.
Mos Def, the travelling man.

Rusty train tracks covered with snow.
On a cold winter night, does the A train run late?
Lyrics are roaring,
people’s voices fill the chilly air.

His lyrics keep the crowd warm,
And with every brush stroke, the artist paints the image.
Winter lyrics,
Waiting for the train to come.

Delicious Sounds of House | New Freebie from Flashmob – ‘Sometimes’

Yet again, SS Radio UK has blessed my ears with an insatiable “unreleased” tune. This time, it’s a free track from Flashmob called “Sometimes” and it’s the type of song that is certified to make you dance!

The track was released courtesy of Annie Mac’s soundcloud and the weekly ritual of Free Music Mondays. Of course today is Saturday, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get your feigning hands on some delicious house.

Peep the delicious track below, download it, and begin groovin’ your ass off to the deep bass and the gritty soulful vocals of “Sometimes.”

It’s songs like this track that make me proud to be a house junkie. Not only is the bass a certified banger, but the lyrics are awesome! I believe the track is a sample from the classic Motown song, but the house version by Flashmob is the type of song that makes me dance all night long to the sun comes out. Songs like this give me a reason to smile. :)

Eargasm | FET ET MOI – ‘Paris Is For Lovers’

Driving across the country can be tedious for some folks, but for me it’s a form of therapy. I like to just sit in the car by myself, cruise along the highway, and blast some deep, soulful, and tech house. My drive this past weekend would have been a nightmare if I hadn’t made some nice house mixes featuring some of my favorite mixes I’ve posted on this blog, as well as tracks I’ve found.

One of the tracks I couldn’t get enough of was this alluring song that uses a sample of Justin Timberlake’s “My Love.” However, the sad reality is that it was actually a track in RUFUS “Back to Cali” mix, so I couldn’t play it on repeat. But I didn’t mind listening to the RUFUS mix over and over again just to hear the beautiful song that gave me an insatiable eargasm.

The song that is responsible for the eargasm is called “Paris Is For Lovers” and it is a beautiful deep house/acid song by Fet Et Moi. The original lyrics are of course by the lovely Justin Timberlake, and the deep house/acid vibe makes the lyrics even stronger.

As I drove there I just kept reminiscing about relationships, men I’ve dealt with, and how tough love is, yet it’s so satisfying. Love is addicting, exciting, and sometimes it can feel so surreal. It’s not a word that should be thrown around, but I’ll admit I have used it loosely in the past. Which is why kids, it’s important to realize when you’re in the mindset for a relationship! And…I’m just not there. I’m about to graduate college, plotting a move to California, and I really enjoy being single and having options. But that doesn’t mean I’m anti-love, especially when a song as beautiful as this one knows how to blow my mind…

Powerful Lyrics, Beautiful Sounds | Sailor & I – ‘Tough Love’ (Aril Brikha Remix)

I listen to a wide variety of music, especially within the genre of house. And I always try my best to share with my readers the good music I find, most notably the free downloads and house mixes.

You may recall last month I went on a spree of posting mixes. Out of all the mixes I had posted, the FACT MIX 337 by Tensnake had really caught my attention. You can click here to read my thoughts on it and grab your free download.

I listened to the mix over and over again, but the song that stood out to me the most (it even brought forth a few tears) was this lovely song that talked about toughness of love. Until yesterday, I had no idea who the track was by, and if it was an original or a remix. But after further research and thanks to comments on soundcloud, I found the information I had been desperately seeking.

So what’s the name of this beautiful song that made my eyes water and made my heart melt? Well, the song is called “Tough Love” and it’s by Sailor & IThe remix that I heard is the Aril Brikha Remix.

The song is one of the most beautiful collections of compelling lyrics and atmospheric sounds I’ve heard in awhile. I know I say that a lot, but this song truly captured my mind, body, and soul. I just keep listening to it over and over again. I close my eyes in drift off into serenity, yet I’m not drifting into an state of mind driven by surrealism. This song makes you reflect on the realities of how tough love can truly be and how you just want to feel safe, but things just aren’t getting better…never getting easier.

At some point in our lives we’ve all dealt with a “tough love” and this song captures the essence of the emotions we often feel when you love someone (the melodic harmonies of the song) but you’re faced with a harsh reality of love (the lyrics of the song.)

Listen to the original track as well. It has these beautiful violins that resonate against the lyrics and drums that bring forth a dramatic romantic escapism.

Sailor & I – “Tough Love” Lyrics

Something you said made me lose it again;
I can’t remember the last time you made me feel safe.
There’s no room for love, no time for understanding;
Sometimes I start a fight just to see if you care.

It’s not getting better;
It’s not getting any easier.
I never thought I’d become so cold inside.

Day after day, we’re wishing our lives would change;
As long as you say it’s alright, it’s alright with me.
If we promise too much; more than enough.
I never thought it’d be easy; not hard like this.

It’s not getting better;
It’s not getting any easier.
I never thought I’d become so cold inside.

It’s not getting better;
It’s not getting any easier.
I never thought I’d become so cold inside.

I never thought it’d be easy; not hard like this.
I never thought it’d be easy; not hard like this.
I never thought it’d be easy; not hard like this.
I never thought it’d be easy; not hard like this.
I never thought it’d be easy.
