Spirit Soul Mix Archive | Going Deeper – May Podcast 2013

artworks-000045586187-h6y86a-t500x500Russian house duo Going Deeper (Timur & Eugene) are back with brand new mix for the Spirit Soul Mix Archive.

Loaded with uptempo deep and soulful house, this May Podcast is surely one that will get you up and moving, but not dancing like a maniac. It’s uptempo, but the mix starts off with a sexy groove that deserves righteous sex appeal; not reckless grinding.

Not sure if any of that made much sense, but oh well! The point is, this is a good mix and Going Deeper is on my radar now. These Russian guys and there monthly mixes are earning a spot in my heart next to my other favorite duo, Bondax.

♥ | Copyright feat. Andre Aspeut – ‘Lifted (Pablo Fierro Remix)’

tumblr_me61hv0aLx1r2xhmc_1354052372_cover

It might have came out in December 2012 (as if that’s so long ago,) but I’m still blasting Copyright’s Lifted EP. Out of all the Defected releases from Copyright, this one happens to be my favorite!

The London-based duo, Copyright, has been pumping out some great heavy-bass infused house hits over the years, but “Lifted” is one that is just oh-so funky! The beat progression is simply deep and bass-driven with hints of subtle percussion, but the vocal elements make this track a funky soul experience.

The original “Lifted” mix is surely one that makes you want to have a spiritual experience, but the Pablo Fierro Mix is for getting down and dirty on the dancefloor; spirit fingers welcome. :)

Check out the original mix and the delicious Pablo Fierro Mix. Gosh, I can’t get enough of it. Oh, and can we talk about the video accompanying the remix? SEXY!!!!

Soulful House | Frankie Knuckles pres. Director’s Cut feat. Sybil – ‘Let Yourself Go’ (the Remixes)

206950_largeIt’s hump day, so get over the hump with some soulful house from Frankie Knuckles pres. Directors Cut. Featuring the vocals of Sybil, this soulful track titled “Let Yourself Go” is exudes love, peace, happiness, and house. :)

The original mix is ultra soulful, but the Joey Negro remix gives it a disco-house sound..and you know I love me some disco house!

As the weather begins to warm up here on the East Coast, I’m beginning to switch up my playlists to match the weather. In the midst of looking for great house mixes for the soundtrack of summer, Denmark-based house production Borneland sent me their May 2013 mix; jam-packed with the sounds of summer.

The brothers, Jonas & Micki Borneland, have really put all the right touches on this mix. Each track transitions seamlessly from one to the other, resulting in a beautiful groove of summertime fun, sex on the beach, and the thrills of house.

Push play. Relax. Laugh. Dream….

Disclosure Debut’s Visuals for ‘You & Me’ feat. Eliza Doolittle

8680083035_3211f28112_zI’m back! I haven’t had the chance to blog due to working on a big project involving thousands of pictures for Hearst, but I’m done with my section of the project, so now I return to you with a handful of new music! So, to kick things off, here is a brand new release from Disclosure.

The track, “You & Me” featuring the vocals of Eliza Doolittle was released a few days ago, but now the official music video is here. It’s a decent track, but I still prefer “Latch.” Call me biased, but that will always be my favorite Disclosure track. :)

Insanely Dope | Diet Wiegman’s Shadow Sculptures (made from scraps x junk)

Dutch artist Diet Wiegman‘s latest project is mind-blowing, innovative, and insanely dope! The latest creation from the mastermind of Wiegman is a series of Shadow Sculptures that are made entirely from scraps and junk collected over the years. The result? Beautiful images that will leave you pondering how on earth he did it? It must have taken precision and time to make sure the shadows were just right.
