DANCE | Fresh Dance Tracks You Should Totally Check Out

Here at TS25, I always try to bring you the latest in EDM, as well as tracks that might not be new, but they are totally worth a listen. A majority of the content I post within the EDM realm is usually house or some type of electro, but I can’t forget Dance Music.

Out of all the genres within EDM that are becoming mainstream, Dance Music is something you can easily hear on the radio nowadays and in the hottest clubs. I’m still waiting for the day when stations here in D.C. will wise up and play house, but for now NYC, Chicago, Miami, and SF have that on lockdown (house scenes are huge there.)

Dance Music is truly growing in the states, whereas in other regions abroad Dance Music was surely a lifestyle and not a trendy uprising. But at least the states have finally smartened up and realized that Dance Music, as well as DNB, dubstep, house, and other genres under the umbrella of EDM are the future (even though they’ve been around for ages.)

Since I’m a huge music lover, I’m not one to leave out a certain genre, and it’s only just that I post some of my favorite new Dance Music hits. So ladies and gents, check out some fresh dance tracks that should totally be added to your weekend playlist.

P.S. I’m trying not to be biased, but I really do love music from the Ministry of Sound (MOS) label. Hehe, so you’ll noticed I choose a lot of tracks from MOS.

Michael Woods ft. Ester Dean – We’ve Only Just Begun (Official Video) (MOS)

Hard Rock Sofa & DJ Squire ft. Max’C – Just Can’t Stay Away (Official Video)

Kaskade ft. Haley – Llove (Extended Mix) (Cover Art)

Kaskade. Need I say more? AWESOMENESS!

Fedde le Grand & Deniz Koyu Remix - Digitalism - Zdarlight (Official Music Video)

Killer track!

Nick Kamarera feat. Alinka – Nada Mas (Pego Pego) (Official video)

Ah, I love this song! I really like Romanian Dance Music. Thumbs up for Romania!!!

Porter Robinson – Language (Official Video) (MOS)

Such a beautiful track. Very atmospheric. Listening to it makes you want to drift off into a beautiful dream…

Swedish House Mafia – Don’t You Worry Child (Live) [feat. John Martin]

Avicii – Silhouettes

Came out early in the summer, but this song never gets old for me. Such an awesome track. Duh, Avicii rocks!

Avicii vs Lenny Kravitz – Superlove

Same as the one above, older track (summer release), but still awesome!

Awesomesauce | A Mashup of the Best Web Videos (Le meilleur du Web)

If I was stranded on an island and could only have one thing aside from basic food such as fruits, then I’d love to have a laptop or iPad with this magical Internet connection that doesn’t require a modem or Wi-Fi access. I know it doesn’t make sense, but that’s why it’s a hypothetical imaginary scenario. If somehow I was stranded on an island and somehow found a working computer that had Wi-fi, then most likely I’m on an episode of Survivor. Sidenote: How are you surviving on an island when people already live there? It just doesn’t make sense….

Anywho, like I was saying, I’d need to have Internet. 80% of my life involves some type of Web usage, including finishing my degree online with the University of Colorado Denver (remember, I live in the DMV  but moved back after living in Colorado for 3 years.) The Internet is such a major part of my life, and I’m mainly glad that it’s given me a chance to share my voice with the world via my blog. But aside from being able to share my opinion and network with amazing people it might not have ever ran across in person, the Web is a great source for epic videos that might not ever be televised on a major network or in a theatre near you.

Viral videos have been around for ages, but it just seems like the creativity and freedom of expression gets better as time goes by and technological advances allow for more innovative creativity. Viral videos come in a variety of genres, but I think it’s amazing to see them all together in one beautiful collection. It’s one thing to just quickly edit a bunch of viral videos into one short video and upload it on Youtube, but one YouTube user knew exactly when to make the rights cuts.

The YouTube user I’m talking about is this guy named Luc Bergeron. You might not have heard of him, but his video Best of Web – Le meilleur du Web has been getting passed around blogs and social media sites. When you think of mashing together a bunch of videos it sounds like such an easy process, but this guy did it with such precision. He was able to effortlessly blend 200 viral videos into a short three minute clip. Not only did he do a great job of mashing up the videos, but he even picked the right song – Kaskade’s “Turn It Down (Le castle vania remix.)”

It’s probably one of the best video mashups I’ve seen in quite some time. It must have took so many hours to precisely edit 200 videos into such a condensed amount of time. I’m telling y’all, this guy has some mad editing skills! Just watch the video below and see for yourself. This is just part one of the best videos; as the weeks go by Luc prepares to debut part two in January.

Kaskade, Rebecca & Fiona – “Turn It Down”

I love how one moment I can be off in this world filled with the soulful vibes of house, neo-soul vocals of Jill Scott, and even the melodic jazz sounds of Kirk Whalum. I can become so easily peaced out on this down-to-earth bohemian type vibe, but then moments later I can have this mega adrenaline rush and starting jumping up and down as the sounds of dance music serenade me. Now, I’m not actually jumping up and down, but I visualize a little caricature of me jumping up in down inside my head, screaming for a bunch of friends that actually like dance & house music, so we can go out to clubs and just tear it up!

The thing that sucks is all the night clubs I really want to go to our mainly 21 and up, but in April I’ll finally be legal! For now I’m just grinding away on school work, hitting the gym like crazy, and having little parties of my own inside my head. But sometimes my imagination gets overworked, so I’m forced to go ask YouTube to find me some creative music videos that are worth watching. Sometimes it takes hours of searching, but today all I had to do was log in and on the home page was a suggestion for Kaskade’s new music video “Turn It Down.” I’m a Kaskade fan, so I didn’t skip a beat. I pushed play, and fell in love.

I’m a big fan of Kaskade, but I will admit I’ve never heard of Rebecca & Fiona until today. But after a Google search and listening to some of their songs on YouTube, I will say that even though these girls suck at dancing, they have some great music! They have this chilly yet intriguing sound, and they first made their debut over a year or so ago with a hit track called “Luminary Ones.” The girls are a Swedish music duo, but they also DJ as well.

The hot new track “Turn It Down” gives Rebecca & Fiona a chance to show off their playful side, while as usual Kaskade brings forth an impeccable mixture that can have the crowds screaming “turn it up” instead of “Turn It Down.” Man, I can so just imagine what it would be like going wild and listening to this song while the strobe lights are pumping, crowds cheering, and folks are getting all sexy. I swear once I turn 21 and like graduate, I’m so finding some new friends who like to go out and listen to some good house and dance music. I’m not going to spend all my twenties staying at home on Friday nights, no sir! That’s a time to travel the world, go to art shows, dance the night away, and somewhere along the way maybe run into a hot guy with potential to be more than a friend. ;)

But for now, it’s all about finding that good music and still being able to enjoy it even when the strobe lights are pulsating and the crowds are going crazy; you can still chill out at home and get lost in the beautiful ice skating, the quirkiness of Rebecca & Fiona, and the intoxicating beats of Kasade’s music video for “Turn It Down.”

The song is on Kaskade’s latest album Fire & Ice, so be sure to check it out!

Soul Peepers: Kaskade & Mindy Gledhill “Eyes”

“Eyes are the window to the soul.” A cliche saying at best, but it does hold some truth. Eyes can be a window to the soul, but some people have some very deceptive eyes. Deceptive, seductive, innocent, and just plain old uncertain. Yet, there is still this magnetic pull I feel when I stare into someone’s eyes and have a sincere conversation. It makes me proud to be a human being and it propels me forward on this journey of humanity.

The beauty of two souls connecting via peepers (eyes) is pretty awesome, which is why I’m sure Kaskade and Mindy Gledhill decided to make a song about it. I heard their song “Eyes” not too long ago, but now there is a trippy video out (came out a few days ago on Ultra Records YouTube page) that captures the essence of a soul, life, and being in tranquil motion. The song is such a simple concept, but sometimes simplistic is best when it comes to music. I’m all for having those abstract musical explorations, but there are those days when I want tranquil vibes resonating in my head. I like music to just “peace me out,” especially on those long days where I feel overwhelmed from school work or life.

If you’re a fan of Kaskade, then I’m sure you’ll love this side of him. It’s a lot more calm and sort of enticing in a way. It’s easy to get lost while listening to this song and if you watch the video, you might get caught in a trance; the video is very trippy and feels like some type of 80s depiction of an acid trip. See for yourself, watch the video!
