I’m not sure how the trend of taking childhood shows and turning them into hilarious comedy sketches geared towards an “adult” audience happened, but I’m truly enjoying this trend. I almost died laughing when I saw live-action The Rugrats movie trailer and then the Hey Arnold movie trailer was a home-run with it’s depiction of Helga and her stalker tendencies.
Live-action depictions of childhood shows never get old, so I was especially pleased that College Humor decided to do a live-action fake movie trailer for Dora The Explorer. I’ve always made fun of that show and the simplicity of the question she asks, especially when the answers be so friggen obvious. She be like, “Do you see the bridge?” I’m like, bitch, it’s right behind you! Geeze, stop asking me if I see the damn bridge. LOL
You can’t do a movie trailer for Dora The Explorer unless you include Swiper, so of course he makes an appearance as the main antagonist in the story. Oh and of course, Diego is there too. And might I mention, he looks kind of hot. LOL
The comedy sketch stars Ariel Winter from Modern Family and it actually looks like it would be a hilarious full-length film.

I’m a huge fan of these creative filmmakers and actors on YouTube who have been defying the odds, and producing these sick/twisted live-action depictions of childhood favorite cartoons. Funny or Die already did their psychotic version of The Rugrats, so I’m glad that the group of folks over at DrCoolSex decided to do a hilariously psychotic live-action trailer for Hey Arnold!
Anybody who used to watch Hey Arnold! knows that Helga Pataki was one crazy chick. She always had a crush, as well as a shrine, devoted to football head (Arnold,) but the group over at DrCoolSex decided to show an even darker side of Helga. She’s one psychotic bitch! Seriously, something is wrong with that chick, and I always knew it.
I used to imagine what it would be like if Hey Arnold! was a live-action movie, and now this trailer gives me an idea of what the movie would should look like. Check out the trailer below and see for yourself how crazy Helga Pataki actually is. The next time someone stalks you, just say “Ah, she’s got that Helga Pataki syndrome.”

I may have a passion for 80′s movies, but the 90′s is my favorite era in pop culture. I was born in April of 1991 and I grew up watching all the 90′s sitcoms, cartoons, and jamming to the music.
The 90′s is often referred to as the golden age for hip-hop, but it was also a time period that pumped out some of the best shows. For years I’ve been talking about so many of my favorite 90′s shows and expressing my
frustration with some of today’s shows on Disney and Nick. Disney has tried to revive the sketch comedy show with their new show So Random, but it will never be All That.
I know I’m not the only person out there who misses the 90′s and apparently Nickelodeon has realized the need for reviving the 90s. I’m a huge fan of programming on Cartoon Network and Nick, I still watch Spongebob and have so many episodes of Rocko’s Modern Life on DVR. I love the simplicity and purity of the humor that those 90′s shows brought. How about them 90′s dads? Haha, they were classic! The 90′s attempt at parents being in a control and flaunting their authority, always ended up in some humorous and cliche lecture.
There is no denying that the 90′s had the best shows and I’m so happy to hear that Nickelodeon has brought the shows back. Shows such as Kenan & Kel, Doug, All That, Hey Arnold, Rocko’s Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Clarissa Explains It All and many more are airing Midnight every weeknight on TeenNick. Luckily I’m a night owl and happen to be up, so my weeknights have gotten even better now. My vibrant laughter can be heard throughout the house and my mom is usually up watching the same thing and laughing as well. She raised me during the 90′s and loved watching all the kids shows with me, she still watches cartoons with me, it’s great!
If you miss the 90′s as much as I do, then be sure to head over to TeenNick’s website and join the discussions. I could sit here for hours talking about all my favorite episodes of The Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, Cat Dog, and so many other great shows. If you’re on twitter, then use the hashtag #90sAreAllThat and follow the trend. The 90′s had some of the best television shows ever made in history, seriously guys, it’s epic! So don’t miss out, join in and watch all the old 90s shows.
After all these years of waiting for these shows to come buy and trying to find them on Amazon and Itunes, it’s nice to finally have them. I’m so glad I’m a 90′s baby!!!! 90′s kick ass! All the 90′s babies and fanatics need to band together and promote this revival of the 90′s show, where my 90′s lovers at?!
P.S. I know the Family Matters theme song by heart and occasionally bust out into song. LOL anyone who has ever hung out with me, has heard me sing the entire theme song. I’m so silly! I loved Family Matters, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, Parenthood, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Martin, Jamie Foxx Show, and other shows made during the 90s.

While Comcast has been busy transitioning over to Xfinity, there has been a handful of new channels added. I typically watch HGTV, Travel Channel, TLC, Centric, TvOne, and other channels; but the recent addition of HUB has become a daily favorite of mine.
Over here in Montgomery County, Maryland the HUB channel is 130. Simply put; it’s the best cartoon channel ever! They show the ultimate old school cartoons and shows such as : Transformers, Batman, Fraggle Rock, Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego, Conan the Adventurer, and Jem.
Not only does the HUB world contain those great shows, but it even has R.L. Stines “The Haunting Hour” and other shows such as G.I. Joe, Strawberry Shortcake, Johnny Quest, Kenny the Shark, and other great kid shows I’m a huge fan of. All the shows on that channel rock! It’s fun to sit back and watch Fraggle Rock, it reminds me of being a child again. I remember the days of sitting back afterschool and waiting for Fraggle Rock to come on (it came on during the 90s as reruns.) The best moment of that show is the episode where they sung Buffalo Springfield’s hit song “For What Its Worth”: it’s the song that goes “stop, hey, what’s that sound, everybody look what’s going down.”
Man I miss the days of those old school cartoons and animated shows. I lived on Between the Lions, The Rugrats, Allegra’s Window, Little Bear, The Muppets, The Adventures of Tintin, Babar,Franklin, Doug, Hey Arnold, Dragon Tales, Rocko’s Modern Life, and so many other hit shows. I loved watching a lot of those shows and I still enjoy watching a lot of the cartoons on television now. Yet one show I fell back in love with was the 80s cartoon called Jem.
Jem is one of those girly hit television shows about a band named Jem and the Holograms. I’m not an 80s kid; but I grew up in the 90s and watched a lot of those shows from the 80s. Jem is one of those guilty pleasure shows. You hate to admit you watch it and sing along to the songs; yet you make sure to never miss an episode. I love Jem! She’s totally outrageous, girly, glittery, and her band rocks!
She has these cool earrings that allow a hologram to transform her into anything. Her real name is Jerrica Benton and she is the owner/manager of Starlight Music. Her dad built this computer named Synergy that allows her to change into the persona of Jem with the help of Synergy and her holograms. When she is in her persona of Jem, her nemesis The Misfits is always trying to mess things up for her. Every episode they always have these catchy dramatic songs they sing. I
always end up singing along to the song and getting lost into the drama. It’s a fun show to watch! Jem’s voice is so girly and she has a way of hitting these high notes; they sound funny when she is singing/yelling her name and lyrics. It’s so 80s!!
Jem and the Holograms have some funny and catchy songs, but the show is so cool! I love watching Jem and I must admit it’s my guilty pleasure this summer. Check out the intro to the show Jem and be sure to check your local listings for HUB. Do you have any old school cartoons you still love to watch?
