artworks-000042131365-09tj7v-t500x500Miss the 80s? No worries, Futurecop! takes you back to the 80s and 90s days of synths and dreamy lyrics with their new single “Atlantis 1997″ featuring Cavaliers of Fun.

I’m a big fan of Futurecop! and their dreampop visions, so I’m excited to share with you their awesome music video for the single, which is on their forthcoming album, HOPES, DREAMS, & ALIENATION.

P.S. How awesome is that artwork? Geeze, throwback!

So 80s | Breakbot ‘One Out of Two’ [Remixes]

I love music that has that 80s vibe. Ya know, the synthpop, nu-wave, and electropop rhythm that could easily be the soundtrack to a scene from any classic 80s movie. There is just something so awesome about 80s inspired music, which is why I’m a huge fan of Breakbot.

He may not be as 80s as Futurecop, Anoraak, or Tesla Boy, but his new EP One Out of Two surely has that 80s flashback sound. You can’t help but to put on an 80s movie and dance around the house while snapping your fingers like your life depends on it. Ah, I love the 80s!

You’ll have to excuse me, I’m going to avoid going on a tangent about how much I love 80s music (I could go on all day.) As a matter of fact, I’m going to vlog about it! It’s hard to explain how I feel in words sometimes, so I’m going to go back to doing videos on a regular basis. So stay tuned for more videos, as well as the usual blog posts. :)

Sound of the 80s | Futurecop! – ‘The Only Way’ feat. Keenhouse (Official Music Video)

So, my blogging has been, well… non-existent for the past few days. I’ve been caught up writing research papers for my finals. The paper I wrote last night on Misogyny & Hip-Hop was quite a lengthy paper, and I even opened up about how I just sort of fell out of love with hip-hop. That deserves another blog post, but the title of that paper alone gives you an idea of how much research and arguing I had to do. So blogging has been on the back burner these past few days.

But once I saw that Futurecop! released a new music video for their song “The Only Way,” I knew I had to post it on my blog. I had been craving some good 80s inspired music, so I was glad that Keenhouse teamed up with Futurecop! to pump out a totally 80s track, “The Only Way.”

The track is sort of the perfect anthem for summertime, especially when you watch the video and think about those dull part-time jobs at the local mini-golf. But a good song has a great way of taking a boring job or task and making even more enjoyable.

The music video for “The Only Way” keeps it simple by letting the music shine and showing a girl dancing, having fun, and just getting into that summery vibe. Oh, and the video was filmed on location at Golf N’ Stuff (you might remember it from The Karate Kid).

If you know anything about the UK synthpop duo Futurecop! then you know that they have this awesome 80s inspired synthpop sound.
I’m a huge fan of a lot of their tracks and 80s mashup videos on YouTube, so I’m glad to see the duo release a new music video that captures the sound of the 80s.

While we’re in the spirit of the 80s, I might as well post the latest free download: Futurecop! – “Into The Future” (Sammy Bananas Strobelight Remix)

Electro | The Morning Playlist

I haven’t had the chance to blog in the past day, mainly because I’ve actually been having a social life. Nothing really major, but I did kind of meet this really nice guy & I’ve been getting to know him. It’s nice to just get to know someone new, as well as having someone to work out with (he’s on his way over so we can go run together.) I don’t really have much more to say about the guy (don’t want to jinx it,) so for now just know that you never know when someone cool can randomly fall into your life….

In the midst of getting to know him, it’s been pretty cool also inviting him into my world of music & vice versa. I def still have to introduce him to the world of house music, but the past few days I’ve been in this nostalgic 80s vibe. I’ve really been jamming to a lot of electropop music by Kamp!, Lemaitre, and Futurecop! If you haven’t downloaded Lemaitre’s new EP, then be sure to check it out. I’ve really been enjoying listening to “Coffee Table” over & over again.

If you’ve read my blog in the past then you know that I love electropop, so I’m always perusing YouTube and finding new music. I just really love that electropop sound, especially if it has a steady synth. Some of the songs I’ve been listening to lately have made it onto my workout playlist, but they’ve also been a part of my morning music routine. I can’t start my day without listening to music, so you know I’m always changing up my morning playlist. So this week my playlist has been a total 80s vibe, as well as a European electropop fusion.

Check out some of the tracks I’ve been listening to below.

ODahl – Just Be Easy

Housee De Racket – Roman (Oliver Remix)

I totally love this remix! So 80ish.

Toomy Disco – Back From Cosmo (ODahl Alternative Remix)

Tesla Boy – Electric Lady (ODahl Remix)

ODahl – Out of Control (Justin Faust Remix)

Friendly Fires – Paris (Aeroplane Remix)

Kamp! – heats (ODahl Remix)

I love this track!!!

Futurecop! – Gateaux Blaster

Star Wars – Duel of The Fates (The Noisy Freaks & Dead CAT Bounce Remix)

The Magician- I Don’t Know What to Do (Errka Remix)

Lemaitre – Coffee Table

This one is more electro, but still has a pop-ish vibe to it.
