Take an out of this world journey to the groovy realms of space, where funky basslines and piano riffs are shooting stars. Okay, let me back up. Perhaps that was far-fetched, but I must say that Moon Boots brand new release “Love Strong” is sooooo0 funky and groovy!
Released on French Express and offered as a free download, “Love Strong” is a solid track that guarantees an experience; you don’t just listen to this song, your body becomes it!
Let’s be honest, partying is a blast. The thrill of the crowd, the DJ playing your favorite track, and dancing with random strangers and making new friends can be an exhilarating experience. But when you’re not in the mood to get hyped, then what do you listen to?
I have many other genres outside of house (and under the umbrella of house) that I chill out to, but sometimes I’m in search of a perfect late-night track. A track that is super chill, melodic, and still has a nice electronic beat. Sounds hard to find, right? Well, it isn’t.
One track that fits the description of a late-night groove is Chris Ward aka Tropics’ single, “Popup Cinema.” Chris Ward, known by his stage name Tropics, is a singer/producer from the UK who has created buzz with his single “Popup Cinema.” The track is perfect for a chill evening or a walk through the streets of any city, and the official music video is finally here.
Directed, shot and edited by Noah Campeau and Jack Wolf, and the video stars Tayo Andrews. A lovely late-night groove with the perfect video to match the vibe.
I will forever and always be a house head, and my stylings of choice tend to be deep, classic, and soulful. I’ll listen to tech-house here and there, but I like my house to be straight down funky, deep, and a pairing of soulful vocals is always a nice delight.
So while I was finishing up my post on ’96 Bulls, I clicked on similar artists and realized that Bit Funk is quite a sensation.
I hadn’t heard of him until now, but I will say that after listening to his selection of house tracks, Brooklyn based DJ, producer, and remixer Bit Funk is officially on my music radar.
The classic vibe of his track “It’s My Love” immediately pulled me in. From the get go the track brings the soul with some great vocals and a resonating beat. It’s one of those tracks that could easily make you feel as though you entered a time machine and stepped into the classic days of house, but then the soulful vocals and the piano chords bring forth a freshness that remind you it’s a new track.
If you’re looking for some more Bit Funk tracks, then check out his soundcloud. I’m currently listening to his mix “A Night On the North Side.” So far…it’s good…real good! And it is yet another great free download.
I love funky house music! I just love that feeling when a funky house track takes over your body, and you can’t resist the urge to just get down right funky! Okay, let me stop. There is definitely a lot of funk in the funk in the funk disco groovin’ going on in this post.
My whole point is, I love a deep house track that has that funky vibe, which is why I’m totally jamming to Kraak & Smaak’s latest release “Hold Back Love.” You may have the urge to hold back love, but you surely can’t hold back the funk when this groovy tune comes on.
The track features the vocals of Lex Empress, and the remix by Lovebirds takes this track to new heights. I’m a huge fan of Lovebirds, so whenever I see their name associated with a track I know it’s going to be some amazing house music ready to pump through my body. And I was totally right! I heard this track on the latest SS Radio UK podcast and once I saw the tracklist, I had to track it down because it’s a Lovebirds remix.Well, that wasn’t the only reason I hunted down the track; I’ve been a huge fan of Kraak & Smaak for years.
Kraak & Smaak are currently artists (the trio consists of Netherlands producers Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug) on Jalapeno Records, a UK record label home to some amazing dance & house music. It’s nice to see a label devoted to such good music, and I’m glad that Kraak & Smaak are able to stay true to their voice, and not being forced to conform. So many labels out now have a bunch of artists that sound the same, and often the originality seems to get lost. But Kraak & Smaak have proved anything with their EP Electric Hustle, they have proved that they will always bring the best in experimental funk, house music, and electronica.
No club bangers for them, just some amazing house that is enough to get you moving, grooving, and screaming “hallelujah!” If you haven’t peeped Electric Hustle (it was released last year,) then be sure to check out some of the tracks on YouTube. It’s a nice mixture of house, funk, and electronic music that you should totally add to your playlist.
