Dubstep x DNB | Keeping The Faith

artworks-000047856298-uw9fpv-t500x500House music is my heart, but hey I love all things in the family of electronic dance music and I can get down with dubstep and drum & bass (so addicting!) So when Keeping The Faith (Ian Halsall) sent me links to some of his latest tracks, I was totally digging what I heard.

Even though I’m a house music junkie for life and that’s my heart, I love all types of music (especially EDM.) So don’t ever be afraid to submit your music to me. I try my best to share good music. :)

Word to the wise: you can never go wrong with some dubstep, drum & bass, and good old fashioned breaks.  So check out some of Keeping The Faith’s music and be sure to stay in the loop via his soundcloud.

DNB | Nu:Logic’ ‘What I’ve Always Waited For’ Beautiful Video Series [Hospital Records]

119886Compelled to seek out an adrenaline rush, my soundtrack of choice is often the pulsating syncopated rhythms of Drum & Bass (DNB.) Raised on the beats of Roni Size and schooled by Aphrodite and High Contrast, I’ve long been an avid listener of the beautiful explorations of sound wrapped within DNB.

There is a lot of fusions of drum and bass, dubstep, liquid bass, and so many other hybrids out there, but a new generation of artists on High Contrast’s label are keeping the music going. One of those collaborations comes from Nu:Logic; a DNB colloboration that keeps the momentum alive.

Nu:Logic has worked on many releases throughout the years, but their upcoming release What I’ve Always Waited For is already proving to be some of their best work to date! In celebration of the March 25th release on Hospital Records, director Nez Savaşkan has created an innovative series of videos to accompany each track.

Today, the eight video in the series, was released for the track “All Things” and we can expect six more videos to debut soon.

Check out the videos below and see which one will be your favorite. As of right now my favorite video and track is “Everlasting Days” featuring Lifford. It’s such a beautiful tune with romanticism that is fast-paced…just how I like it. Each beat captures you heart, teases your body, and leaves you wanting more…

Moduloktopus | 90s Breaks x Trap x Astral Step x DNB x Future x Whatever Else is Epic!

65143_507579205941047_329942586_nEven though I’ve been busy with my new job and getting into the groove of things, I still love my blog and coming home to it. Each day after work I try to make the time to sit down and read all of the emails I get from amazing producers, DJs, mixers, and fans throughout the world. I love you guys so much and I really appreciate you sharing your music with me. And this thank you goes out to Moduloktopus, an amazing producer/remixer who sent me his two new tracks and I fell in love instantly with the diverse sounds of awesomeness.

So who is Moduloktopus? Well according to his soundcloud, he is a “Musician, sound designer, dance floor DJ, producer, experimentalist, bad ass multi-genre composer” from Boston and he’s making some major moves with his music. And his latest original track, “WTF” is a great experimental track that is 90s break beat infused with future step and all things trap, which in this particular situation, equals epic. Not all trap is good, but this works.

After checking out his stuff on soundcloud, I have come to a conclusion. Guess what? I can proudly say that this house junkie is now a fan of Moduloktopus. So thank you sir for sending me your music. :) Oh and shout out to writer Cailey Lindberg for writing the press release for Moduloktopus. Good work you two!

Now that we’ve got all that out the way, it’s time to get into the music. Feed your ears now.

D+B | Netsky – ‘Love Has Gone’ [Official Music Video]

23-year-old Belgian drum & bass (D+B) producer Netsky caught my attention quite some time ago. When it came to D+B I always listened to High Contrast, but then I started checking out Hospital Records and ran across the sounds of Netsky. And it wasn’t one of those instances that required me to over-analyze and decide if I liked his music; I was immediately hooked.

Netsky is on the forefront when it comes to D+B and he has this nice liquid funk sound that propels a majority of his tracks. His second album “2″ was released a little over a week ago and the same day it was released, Netsky released a new music video for his hit track “Love Has Gone.”

“Love Has Gone” is one of my favorite tracks off the album, especially because of the chorus. The vocals are super nice and have this high pitched-retro-ish vibe. Does that make sense? If not, then just check out the video and listen to the song.

The video is set in Barcelona and it follows a group of little kids roaming the city and getting into all sorts of tomfoolery. And in the tradition of most D+B music videos, it features a lot of running.

Serenity | Daydreaming to the Sounds of Liquid Drum & Bass

It all began with a daydream. Exhausted from hours of working on biological anthropology, I drifted into an alternate universe filled with the sounds of liquid Drum & Bass. Okay, it wasn’t that dramatic, but laying on my bed and listening to liquid DNB surely did create this euphoric state of serenity; nothing in life mattered at that moment.

I’ve always been a fan of liquid drum & bass, especially when everyone began getting caught up with dubstep. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of dubstep too, but I love drum & bass more. They contain some similarities, but DNB, especially liquid DNB, is the perfect soundtrack for daydreaming, reflecting on life, and just sitting there staring into space, not thinking about anything relevant.

I’m not one for taking naps during the middle of the day, but laying down on my bed and listening to liquid DNB led to make taking a two-hour nap. I drifted off to sleep with such ease, considering the fact I was a little stressed out prior to taking a moment to breathe, think, and just chill out. But I found a remedy that works for me; listen to liquid DNB when you’re stressed out or just need to drift away on a cloud of euphoric thoughts. Very effortless, yet so rewarding.

Below is the mix that eased my mind, body, and soul. Ah, the beauty of liquid DNB.

DNB + Parkour | Stanza ft. Grimm – ‘Runaway’ [Music Video]

Looking for a euphoric drum & bass track? Well, look no further. DNB producer, Stanza, has released his new song+video “Runaway.”

Featuring the vocals of Grimm, the track is a great DNB cut that has a euphoric vibe that reminds me of the versatility of DNB. It doesn’t have to always be hardcore drum & bass beats pulsating, but it can also be dreamlike waves of goodness.

Such a beautiful tune…timeless. And the music video features some nice parkour moves. Nothing too fancy, but still a nice set of visuals that relay the message of Grimm’s atmospheric vocals that set the pace for running away. Run away, drift away, and fall in love with the beauty of Stanza’s latest release, “Runaway.”

DNB Release | Netsky – “Give & Take”

These past few weeks have just been amazing. I’ve spent a majority of my time working on school work, making beats, and actually going on dates with the same guy. Come to think of it, I’ve actually seen him every single day. We go out on dates, but we spend a lot of time with my family or just chilling at my house playing videogames, working on music, and just getting lost in a zone of creativity; we are totally becoming best friends. But it’s not like it’s getting annoying or anything, because we are actually working on business together. I typically never mix business with pleasure, but sometimes the situation calls for a fair mixture.

It’s been great spending time with someone, and being able to share my love of music. I’m able to give him insight on his vocals & his music, and he’s able to give me support for my writing, my paintings, and a genuine friendship/connection that could be something more…It’s basically a fair exchange of give & take, and Netsky’s drum & bass track “Give & Take” is the perfect soundtrack.

Netsky, the 23 year old dnb sensation from Belgium, has been steadily pumping out some great tracks. But his latest release on Hospital Records is a beautiful track that I can’t help but to play over & over again. Listening to this song, I look back on the past few weeks spending time with my new friend (it’s weird, we act like a couple lol) and get lost in the zone. Perhaps it’s just the power of a drum & bass track, but I do think that Netsky’s “Give & Take” is a dnb release that has this beautiful-surreal vibe. Oh, and did I mention how much I love the piano part? Yeah, it’s boss.
