iLL Rhymes | Napoleon Da Legend – “Napoleonic Language” (Official Music Video)

At the rate Napoleon Da Legend has been blowing up on the music scene, I seriously wonder how much longer people will be referring to him as a DMV based rapper. Napoleon Da Legend is clearly international. And with the major moves he is making, he is bound to take the music industry by storm! And I don’t just mean any storm, I mean one that is truly of legendary proportions.

NDL is definetly a rapper that I have a lot of respect for, and I have the pleasure of knowing him personally. It’s nice to see his motivation isn’t driven by fame or fortune, but by a message to reach the people with heavy dosages of raw truth; he coined his signature style of rap, “Reality Rap.”

I’ve posted quite a few posts on him in the past, and one of the last posts I had written was about his hot new song called “Napoleonic Language.” Fresh off the success of his track with Raekwon, NDL immediately gave his fans yet another dosage of ill rhymes with “Napoleonic Language.”

After hearing his track “Napoleonic Language,” I was anxious to see what Crazy Al Cayne directed video they would unleash for this powerful track. And as usual, Crazy Al Cayne delivers yet again with a solid music video for NDL’s “Napoleonic Language. ” The collaboration effort between CAC & NDL has been quite impressive to watch over the past few months, so I’m anxious to see what else these two have in store. But one thing I know for sure, is that Napoleon Da Legend is truly a great rapper with a bright future ahead of him. :)

So ladies & gents, I present to you “Napoleonic Language.” Enjoy.

Team Rawr | Kelow – “Let It Go”

There may not be a lot of female rappers making it big on the mainstream hip-hop industry, but the indie circuit has a lot of females that are doing their thing. In the past I wrote about one of my favorite female rappers MC Melodee,  but there is another female artist out there that has caught my attention.

Thanks to @teamRAWR on Twitter, they let me know that yet another artist from Baby Dinosaurs & CO. has released a new video. The artist I’m talking about is this dope female rapper named Kelow. If you haven’t heard of Kelow, then you’re missing out on some great music from a rawr-diculously dope indie artist that screams creativity.

Kelow is an upcoming female rapper from Maryland, but she doesn’t just limit herself to rapping. She’s a songwriter, a poet, a painter, and a fusion of eclectic expression that many wish they could be. Kelow is unique, original, beautiful, eccentric, and super talented.

Her debut project Colored Pencils was released by Baby Dinosaurs & CO, and thus far the project has received quite the acclaim. Simply put, it’s good music. High quality production, innovative expression, and abstract thought are what make the album such a success. A lot of the tracks give you a glimpse into different emotions and concepts that Kelow likes to express, but her song “Let It Go” is one that many can relate to.

The video for “Let It Go” just came out the other day and its yet another amazing video shot by BDCO’s creative director Ayinde7. It’s a song that gives Kelow a chance to show off an avant-garde spoken word approach instead of spitting some solid rhymes. It’s unique. Artistic. Refreshing. Bold. It’s Kelow….

Check out the visuals below & be sure to follow her on twitter @SuperKelow  Also download her debut album Colored Pencils here

Avant-garde | Napeoleon Da Legend – “Phoenix”

As of late I’ve been listening to quite a bit of old school hip-hop, so I’m not really staying in tune with the current stuff being played on the radio. However, I’m always interacting with unique artists on Twitter & Facebook. I’m constantly running across new music from artists that might not be mainstream, but their music is still awesome.

My passion for good music and networking is why I’m always anxious to hear what DMV rapper Napoleon Da Legend drops next. We’ve been networking for almost a year now, and I’m glad that he continues to amaze me with such innovative lyrical combinations. His lyrics are always on point, but I will say that as of late his videos directed by Crazy Al Cayne have been exceptionally creative.

The Sugar Cayne Experiment Vol. 1 is slated to drop real soon and the latest installment in the video series is a track called “Phoenix.” The beat was originally created in 95′ but NDL makes it quite relevant with his thought provoking lyrics.

Not only does NDL provide us with the usual heavy-hitting socially conscious infused lyrics, but the costuming and production of this video is quite avant-garde. NDL is wearing this amazing theatrical white mask that covers half of the face, and he pairs such an iconic mask with a fresh Adidas hoodie. His swag is sophisticated renaissance, which makes for a great combination when enjoying the visuals & the lyrics.

Yet again, Napoleon Da Legend is reminding us why he is such an amazing rapper that needs to be heard. He isn’t just doing the cliche music videos (thanks to the originality, professionalism, and creativity of Crazy Al Cayne.) NDL is continue to make a name for himself in the industry, and his latest video “Phoenix” is just a glimpse of the greatness to come.

Team RAWR | Miko Miko Bang! – “Get Back”

RAWR! You already know what time it is. Yes, Baby Dinosaurs & CO. is in the building! Haha, okay not exactly in the building, but they do have some new music that is totally rawr-diculous! Um yeah, I just made up a word. Eh, it’s what I do!

But I digress. The other day @TeamRAWR hit me up on Twitter and let me know that Miko Miko Bang! (President/Music Director BDCO) dropped some fresh Ayinde7 directed visuals for his new single “Get Back.” I had no idea that Miko Miko Bang! was such a talented guy. I hadn’t really checked out his music before because I had been bobbing my head to the tantalizing and fresh lyrics of BDCO’s artist Justin W. You might recall that I did a blog post on his music not too long ago, so be sure to check out that post for more information on Baby Dinosaurs & Co.  and an upcoming rapper/producer Justin W. Click here ————–> BABY DINOSAURS & CO/JUSTIN W.

Miko Miko Bang! has an original vibe to his music, which you’d probably expect from a guy who’s slogan on his tumblr banner is “When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be a panda.” It’s original, witty, refreshing, and down-right creative. With his video “Get Back,” Miko Miko Bang! gives us a glimpse the direction his new conceptual album Forever Sasha will take. Conceptual….I like that.

His video “Get Back” isn’t really rapping or singing, more like this avant-garde spoken word of pain, frustration, and attempting to move on from a woman who just did him wrong. Then everyone tells him he needs to “get back” but his “mind is too far” and he can “never get back.” He’s just brushing the dirt off his shoulders and moving forward. No need to dwell on the past. Miko Miko Bang! clearly expresses that with his line “Baby, I’m fine I’m fine, I’m good. I’m leaving these hoes right where I should.”  How much more clear can you get? Miko Miko Bang! is telling it like it is!

I’m really feeling this song. It’s refreshing, abstract, and the video is yet another stunning visual shot by creative director Ayinde7. He’s really been producing some quality visuals to go with such great music. I’m glad that he’s apart of Team Rawr and the Baby Dinosaurs & Co. camp.

So please be sure to support this DMV record label and help put these artists on the map. Peep the visuals below and be sure to check out the official site for BDCO.

Oh, and I totally forgot to post Justin W’s latest music video “I Will Not Go.”  So peep the Ayinde7 visuals below.
