Disco House | Solidisco x Skyy – ‘Top Of The World (Radio Edit)’

artworks-000068704051-x94byk-t500x500

Like I said in my post yesterday, disco fever is in the air.

Buffalo, New York-based production duo, Solidisco,
have released a their first disco house single on Ultra Records.

Titled, “Top Of The World,” this upbeat track features the vocals of legendary disco/funk band Skyy. That’s a pretty big deal!

Here’s what Solidisco wrote on their soundcloud:

Top of The World is our first single on Ultra Records. The track features vocals from legendary disco/funk band Skyy – their first contribution to an original release in over 20 years. This track throws a modern twist on the classic 90s feel-good house track with that uplifting vibe that got a lot of us into this kind of music in the first place. Hope yall like it!

I don’t like it…I love it! I know I know, cliche, but seriously I’m loving this track! Big ups to Solidisco for releasing such good vibes!

Kenny Dope ft. Josh Milan – ‘Be Your Freak (Kenny Dope O’Gutta Mix)’

One of my favorite things about watching house dancing battles on YouTube is the excitement I get from hearing new music! Of course the dance moves are killer and make me want to get up and start housing, but I love the remixes that make your body move nonstop.

I’m not sure which battle my brother was watching, but last night we both went crazy for this killer track that sort of had that underground Masters At Work sound. And thanks to Shazam stepping up it’s game in identifying house tracks, we were able to learn the name of this deep, sexy, and infectious wiicked tune. Continue reading

#Turntup | Dj Snake ft. Lil Jon – ‘Turn Down For What’

maxresdefault-3After debating back and forth what I should do for NYE’s here in the DMV, I think I’ve finally decided to spend the night geeking out and get #turntup to some trap x bass @ U Street Music Hall.

Considering that I’ve listened to Dj Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What” probably over a hundred times (so serious,) it seems that trap has this crazy effect on making me super hyper!

Mind you, on a daily basis I’m already hyper to the max (and I’m not ADHD or anything,) but trap has a way of making me so hype!

I mean, yeah, house music (My #1 love) drives me wild and moves my body and soul, but trap is my alternative party anthem.

And if you’ve ever listened to trap while working out, man isn’t it such an adrenaline rush?

Yesterday I was working out to this track:

Alright, that’s enough hype for right now. I’ve got to head to DC and take care of some business.

Happy Friday! :)

In celebration of reaching 1million+ followers on her soundcloud, deep house producer Maya Jane Coles has released a free download of her track “Dreamer.”

Taken from her Comfort album, “Dreamer” is a nice slow-moving deep house track with that signature “dark vibe” I’ve come to know x appreciate from Maya Jane Coles.

Deep House | Chris Meid – ‘The Sunrise (Original Mix)’

artworks-000063101752-cupvqg-t500x500

Today, I’m waking up to a rainy morning, but I’m feeling the sunshine with Chris Meid’s deep house cut, “Sunrise.”

After running errands all weekend, it’s nice to be at home. I hope that you all had a great weekend and things didn’t get too frenetic with all this holiday shopping. Seems the holidays bring out that blatant rudeness in folks, but I stay calm by constantly listening to the sounds of house music.

“Sunrise” is a delightful track full of happiness, curiosity, and a slice of anticipation. With vocals weaving the story of two strangers meeting and spending the night together, this is a great track that I can relate to (sort of.)

Well, that’s all a story for another day…but I will say this is a great track that will brighten up your morning. :)
