Deep Bass Groovin’ | Steve Huerta – Do Good To Me / Revenge [petFood035 EP]

petFood-035-Final-ArtworkSince moving to Los Angeles, I still haven’t had the chance to get fully immersed in the house scene. However, producer Steven Huerta is Los Angeles based and truly knows how to make a track deep. I need to find out where he spins…However, I’m hoping once I go to Deep next weekend @King King, I will have the chance to vibe with my fellow deep house lovers. All house is good, but there is nothing like some deep house to move ya mind, body, and soul.

Deep house comes in many shapes and forms, but it’s all about that bass. The deeper the bass, the better the impact on your body. I love when the bass is pumpin and the soulful vocals are teasing my ears. Even if there isn’t vocals, the deep bass alone can make you crazy.

So back to what I mentioned in the beginning of this post, deep house by LA based producer Steven Huerta. His new EP contains two amazingly deep tracks, “Do Good to Me” and “Revenge.” Both of the tracks are equally deep (the second one is a slow deep groove) and will get your mind, body, and soul into some deep bass groovin!

Slow Deep Grooves | Solomun – ‘Something We All Adore’

It’s nice to finally sit down and write on my own blog. I’ve been doing so many other projects for other people, and I’m slightly exhausted. I missed my blog! I know it’s only been a few days since I’ve written my last post, but the agony was killing me.It’s just been overwhelming lately, and on top of that my brother just moved back to California. :( It’s great that he is going back out there to continue living his dream, but I surely do miss him.

I’m still on this path to figuring out exactly what I want to do with my writing. It’s fun writing for others and having my work be read by many, but I also don’t ever want to reach that point where writing is no longer fun. It would be such a shame to chase after the fame & fortune of being a hotshot writer, but then losing the initial passion and curiosity that made me fall in love with writing.Hopefully that day of falling out of love never happens; I’ll make sure to always write because I want to.

This post isn’t going to be rattled with my thoughts on writing, but listening to Solomun’s “Something We All Adore” is what really got me thinking about the aspect of life, fame, fortune, and humanity. “Something We All Adore” is the name of one of Solomun’s beautiful deep grooves off his EP Something We All Adore, which was released in November 2011. I didn’t hear this track until a few days ago while listening to the latest podcast of Deep House Cat, but the moment I heard it was instantaneously hooked.

I’ve been a huge fan of Solomun for quite some time now. His music always has this industrious quality infused with abstract urban tales. I can always just close my eyes, drift into fading pictures of an urban oasis, and reflect on profound revelations. Time. Space. Love. Life. Hate. Discovery. Sadness. Frustration. Tears. Laughter. Regret. A deep abyss of limitless expression.

It’s powerful to think of the innate quality that music has upon our nature as human beings, and how the simple arrangement of sounds come together to provoke moments of discovery, moments of clarity, and simple moments of content. A lot of house (especially deep house) has that unyielding impact, but the slow chugging deep grooves of Solomun are so organically abstract…

More House

Deep House: Aki Bergen ft. Carmen Sherry – “Into My Soul (Spiritchaser Remix)”

All my fellow house music junkies need to check out The Future Is Fresh podcast with Fresh 27.  If you love that deep, soulful, and vocal house music, then The Future is Fresh is another podcast you should subscribe to. My daily dosages of house music are never running short, because I have my trusted podcasts that I know will bring forth that real house music. The podcasts that any house lover should check out are: Deeper Shades of Houses, Deep House Cat, SS Radio UK, Grant Nelson’s Housecall, Sweat Soulful House, DeepSoul Maison, and The Future is Fresh with Fresh 27.

All those podcasts are constantly being pumping out shows with great music, and a lot of the old shows will blow your mind. I still have so many episodes of The Future is Fresh I haven’t listened to, but I decided to switch up my workout playlist and listen to nonstop house. It’s nice to have a continuous mix while I’m on the elliptical, instead of songs that just randomly jump around and don’t have a transition. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Dance/Electronica playlist I put together, but something about the sounds of house make my workout more fun and less stressful.

Earlier today I was listening to the November 8th episode of The Future is Fresh and I heard this amazing song called “Into My Soul.” I had never heard of this track until today, but I couldn’t help but immediately fall in love with it. It’s so deep, so beautiful, so organic, and it’s that real house vibe that my soul craves. The song is by Aki Bergen and it features the vocals of Carmen Sherry. The original version of the track is quite beautiful, but the Spiritchaser Remix takes the song to an entirely new level; a dreamlike escape with deep rhythms, pulsating effects, and soulful vocals that could start a spiritual revival. There is just something so majestic about this track, and if you listen to it while working out, you’re bound to wanna hop of the machine and start housing dancing. Ah, it’s such an enticing track, the type of track that is truly a deep house lover’s delight. Man, can you imagine being in a lounge and having this spinning live? OMG, that would be heaven!

Check out the track below and download it for free from soundcloud!

P.S. All the podcast I mentioned can be subscribed to for free on iTunes.

The Joyful Sounds of House

Everyday I wake up and ask myself, “Why am I so in love with house music?” I may get off into electro and other genres, but I always get this overwhelming joy when I listen house. I’ve been jamming to the beautiful sounds of soulful house for over 10 years now, and everyday I find myself falling deeper in love with the music. It’s sort of like the way some people fall deeper in love everyday with their significant other, except in this equation my significant other would be the vibrant tunes of house.

House and gospel music are the only two genres of music that have the power to bring me to tears. The feeling is so enchanting, euphoric, and out of this world. When I’m listening to house I feel like nothing in the world can bring me down; I feel as though I’m this beautiful creature on a journey of ultimate freedom. The joy I get when listening to house reminds of me of gazing at my favorite flower, colorful daisies, and eating my favorite candy bar, Almond Joy.

It still amazes me how certain things can have a powerful effect on our emotional state and outlook. The sounds of house has this magical way of uplifting my spirit and speaking to me in a language that not many understand. The language of house is something that is has the possibility to be understood by many, but it’s up to the listener to chose whether they will open their soul or ignore the power. I know to seem it seems weird to be so madly passionate about house, but it’s embedded in my heart, soul, and personality. Like Eddie Amador’s classic house song says, “Not everyone understands House music; it’s a spiritual thing.”

I’ve met a lot of people over the years that either 1.) love house 2.) aren’t quite sure if they have heard house music 3.) or hate it. Usually the ones that aren’t sure if they have heard it can’t be held uncountable if they haven’t had a true exposure to house; which is why I love stepping in and giving them a starter kit of some delightful house tracks. If the person is an expert in music, then I will break it down from a musical theory and composition standpoint. But if they happen to be limited in their music knowledge, then I basically say that house music is essentially uplifting and joyful music that sends you into a surreal state. Sort of like drugs, but without the nasty repercussions.

Within house there are so many different styles, sounds, and overall moods, but a majority of soulful tracks have a joyous overtone. That sound can be created by a variety of techniques, but the best ingredients for that perfect combination of love, soul, and joy are: moody keys (playful piano chords), vocals, a moderate but not too heavy bass, and other magical sounds effect that make it dreamlike. I have a decent collection of house tracks that are alluring, but I’m always on the search for more. You can never have enough house music to feed your soul, it’s just impossible. Falling in love with the sounds of joyful and soulful house is the start of craving that seems to never fade. But it’s not a bad thing, because house music is good for the mind, body, and soul.

Every morning I wake up and I thank the Lord for my family, my life, and for the beautiful sounds of house. It’s more than a genre of music, it’s a lifestyle. I’m not the DJ, I’m not the producer, and I’m not the record label, but I am a product of the music called house that has been enticing souls worldwide since the 80s…

Here is an amazing track I heard a few days ago while working out and listening to the latest episode of Deep House Cat podcast. This track features some amazing vocals by Alec Sun Drae, and it’s one of those tracks that a true soulful house lover can’t help but to play on repeat. It’s filled with such life. Tracks that usually have moody keys such as this track, always remind me of a beautiful day where I feel like anything is possible, even finding a unicorn! House is a music of dreams, anything is possible. :)
