Inspirational House Tracks: For Days When the Sun isn’t Shining

If your a regular visitor to my blog, then it’s no surprise how passionate I am about music…all kinds of music! I grew up listening to old school funk, hip-hop, and in 2000 fell in love with House music. Most people don’t know this about me, but I actually been playing flute since I was in 3rd grade and played all the way up to high school. In high school I quit and picked up my love of theatre and performing once again. Being multi-talented can be hard, especially figuring out what season of life to dedicate to a certain talent. I’ve learned to combined my love for writing and music into savvy blurbs about certain artists and genres. But in it all, I’m still a house music junkie. I love house music that is positive and has an uplifting soulful message. So I decided to start posting some of my favorite house tracks. These are the tracks that have moved my mind, body, and soul. Like Eddie Amador says, “Not everyone understand house music. It’s a spiritual thang, a body thang, a soul thang.”

So stay tuned for weekly house music posts!

Inspiration- Arnold Jarvis (produced by Kerri Chandler)

Arnold Jarvis is a global and underground national success! His monumental classic “Inspiration” is an uplifting song. The song can be interpreted by each individual listener, you can relate it to someone you love, a friend, or even a higher spiritual power. Whatever it may be, this is a powerful song that I listen to on a regular basis. It reminds to stay positive and that life is beautiful, even when times are rough, it reminds me to stay conscious of life and count my blessings. “Inspiration” is a soulful uplifting classic house song, that will wipe away the tears and send you into a musical bliss…especially on a bad day!

Brighter Days- Cajmere feat. Dajae

I’m Feeling so Blue…I need a place, to run and hide. Relax awhile and clear my mind. And dream of brighter days…

I think I will love this song till the day I die. It’s such a wonderfully mastered piece of music, that illuminates from the soul. Brighter days has gotten me through many sad times, especially when I was homeless in 2004. I was staying on a campground in St. Mary’s County in an old Barn house with my parents. The only music I had was on a small red mp3 player that held only about 50 songs. I played “Brighter Days” over and over again, it helped me get through those hard eight weeks. House music, especially gospel house, has been a pick-me-up on many occasions throughout my life. I’d be lost without God, and I would be lost without house too.

Heal My Heart- Kerri Chandler ft. Treasa “Diva” Fennie

Kerri “Kaoz” Chandler is one of the originator of deep house music and is an expert in producing tracks that leave an imprint on the soul. I love everything song he has produced! Seriously, there isn’t a track of his that isn’t a favorite of mine. My top songs are: So Let the Wind Come, Atmosphere, Hallelujah, Bar a Thym, Rain, and so many more tracks! Check out Hallelujah below.

I Go Deep- Yass ft. LT Brown

I’m not a big fan of Yass’ new stuff, but I love this track so much and the track “I’m Free”. It’s a soulful tune that explores the relationship between the soul and music. It’s one of those song that gets your whole body into, even your facial expressions. Whenever I hear a good house track, I always make this face like I just ate the best piece of cheesecake in the world! This is one of those songs, that leaves an imprint on the soul.
