When I found out that Will Ferrell would be returning to Saturday Night Live to host this weekend, I told myself there was no way in hell I was going to miss the episode. I usually end up catching SNL the next day on my DVR, but last night I sat in front of the television with my mom and watched the entire episode. It was non-stop laughter!
From his opening monologue, the laughter began. I just had a really good feeling that the episode was going to be hilarious, and I was totally right! Not only was last night’s episode super funny thanks to Will Ferrell, but it also marked the anniversary of the 100th Digital Short. The short featured a lot of the reprising characters from previous digital shorts, including the appearance of a lot of celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman, Justin Bieber, Usher, Michael Bolton, and many more!
The digital short was, as usual, something absurd (this time it was about sucking their own dicks,) but it was still funny to see everyone coming together for the 100th Digital Short.
The episode also contained some other hilarious segments, but they showcased a new hilarious commercial for Cold Medicine. But in the commercial Will Ferrell keeps sneezing like crazy and he doesn’t do a normal human sneeze. His overacting pisses Kristin Wigg off, which is truly a hilarious sight to see. Haha, she gets so mad at him for his annoying fake sneezing.
There were some other moments in the episode that cracked me up, including Funkytown Debate, ESPN Golf, Broadway Sizzle, and Will Ferrell making a return with Anna Gayester as the singing music teachers. They did a parody of songs and it was so funny! But sadly it’s not online, so you have to watch it OnDemand. Even theWeekend Update with Seth Meyers was on point, and Liam Nesson even stopped by while Andy Samberg did his excellent Nicolas Cage impersonation.
Feel free to watch the full episode below, including Usher’s amazing performance of “Climax.” Or, as usual, watch the clips below. I hope you find the episode just as funny as I did. Thoughts on the 100th Digital Short?

Last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live was hosted by the hilarious Jason Segel. I’m a big fan of How I Met Your Mother, so every week I’m cracking up at the silly antics of Jason and the cast. He was always pretty funny in I Love You Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so I’m sure the new Muppets movie will be a delightful treat. I’m a big fan of The Muppets, so I’m probably going to go see it.
The Muppets stopped by during Jason’s monologue, but I just wasn’t feeling it. So I changed the channel back to Donald Glover: Weirdo standup on Comedy Central. That was a pretty good comedy special, so I’m glad I have DVR and was able to record SNL. After watching his standup, I switched back to SNL and
basically was able to fast forward to the funny skits.
Last night’s episode only had probably two skits I didn’t find funny, well I suppose 3 if you include that monologue in the opening. They use a script, so I guess it could count as a skit. So, I didn’t really find it too funny, but the other skits I did find funny had me cracking up. They did a pretty funny skit where they tried to find Regis Philbin replacements. I laughed super hard when Fred Armisen did this dead on impersonation of George Lopez. I just couldn’t stop laughing! I had never seen someone do such a great impersonation of George Lopez and his bravado, it was awesome!
I thought that was so funny, but I’m not going to lie, for some reason I laughed so hard at the Kemper-Pedic skit. I can’t even begin to explain that, so man…just watch for yourself! Oh and they also brought back the Red Flag commercial, so peep my other article on that episode at the bottom of this post. Some other skits worth watching are the New Jack Swing Thanksgiving Edition, Seducing Women Through Chess, Retirement Party, and Andre the Giant Gets an Ice Cream. The New Jack Swing skit was pretty funny because it was hilarious seeing them take New Jack Swing terminology and thanksgivingerize it. Yup, I sure did just make up a word. LOL. Having that thanksgiving spin on it is was made the skit funny.
Now the Seducing Women Through Chess was a digital short and that was funny because it looked so cheesy like an 80s lesson on macking. Andy Samberg played such a loser who couldn’t seduce women through chess, checkers, or anything! I will say I laughed the hardest when Jason Segel came onto the set as a prostitute and shanked Andy; his voice was so deep and manly, which is what made it so funny! Jason had a lot of good roles on the episode, including his performance as Andre the Giant ordering Ice Cream. It was so simple yet I found it funny. Also, the Retirement Party was a funny skit too only because Kristin Wigg kept yelling at everyone. Check that one out too if you’d like.
Jason Segel (in my opinion,) did a great job on last night’s episode. Also Florence and the Machine had a pretty good performance, and Florence Welch actually made some cameo’s in a few of the sketches. So be sure to check out some of the skits below, and don’t forget The Muppets movie is coming out November 23rd. It looks cute and funny, so I might have to go check it out.

So last night I went out on a date and saw Real Steel. The date was pretty good, but I’m not really looking for a relationship; so no pressure, just went out and had a good time. The movie was actually really good! It reminded me of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em robots, except with amazing graphics, killer upper-cuts, and the oh so sexy Hugh Jackman. I’m not the type of girl to see a movie for the sex appeal, but it never hurts to see a movie with great action moves and some eye candy.
Real Steel got mixed reviews from critics as usual, but it’s worth checking out if you like robots fighting. Hugh Jackman is great actor and I loved him in Australia, but he will always be Wolverine in my opinion. It was nice seeing a cameo of him in X-Men First Class, but I do hope they bring him back in another X-men movie. I think Saturday Night Live was thinking the same thing, except they want the “Best of Both Worlds.”
“Best of Both Worlds” was a skit from last night’s episode of SNL. The host was Ben Stiller and he did a pretty good job in most of the skits, but the digital short was by far my favorite of the night. Prior to the digital short, they did a skit in which action stars meet musical theatre. It was cheesy of course, but it was cool seeing Hugh Jackman make a cameo. While Andy Samberg pretended to be Hugh, the real Hugh pretended to be Daniel Radcliffe. One of the cast members even did a great Clint Eastwood impersonation that was simply timeless!
Following the action-star-mockery skit was a funny digital short that consisted of V-Neck battles. You know how some men rock shirts that have a v-neck? Well Ben Stiller and Andy decided to have a battle of the deep V-necks. I found the skit pretty funny, considering I personally like when a man knows how to properly where a v-neck that isn’t too deep. If a v-neck tee is worn the right way and on the right man, then it can be a very sexy look that has that action-movie essence.
Be sure to check out the V-neck battle below, Hugh Jackman, Shanna, and Foster the People’s live performance of “Pumped Up Kicks” and “Houdini.” Kenny G even made a surprise appearance on their song “Houdini.” It’s one of my favorite songs of theirs, so it was nice seeing Kenny G as well. He still has that long curly hair; it’s so 90s, but that’s Kenny G! Foster the People are doing big things and it’s nice to see them getting mad love. I’d love to see them live in concert one day, but watching them on SNL was close enough. They seem like a bunch of interesting guys to chill with, but I’d rather chill with Hugh Jackman. lol….

SNL’s season finale was quite hilarious last night, especially since Justin Timberlake hosted. In my mind he was always an unspoken cast member, I mean he has been on SNL a lot! Justin is a very funny guy and last night’s digital short “Three Way” featuring Andy Samberg and Lady Gaga was hilarious!
The matching multi-colored jumpsuits, the hairstyles, sunglasses, and the mustaches were such a 90s throwback. In my opinion it was almost as funny, maybe funnier, then the duos original skit “Dick in a Box”. I love how Justin Timberlake was singing and Andy Samberg had this deep 90s r&b voice…classic! I’m not even a Lady Gaga fan but she was a great addition to the video, with her weirdness and all.
Check out the video and see for yourself.
