Summer is right around the corner and the movie madness is getting ready to begin! First off we’ve got an action packed month of May with Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness, and then the summer really kicks off with del Toro’s Pacific Rim.
If you haven’t seen the first trailer, then watch it here. Once you’ve watched it, then sit back and watch 2,500 tons of awesome in the exclusive trailer that debuted at last month’s Wondercon.
In this new trailer we get the chance to see more of the monsters, experience the struggle the humans face, and see some epic ass-kicking. Yes, it’s super epic! This film is going to be the new Transformers of the summer time hype; except it will actually deliver a great movie.
Watch out Michael Bay, del Toro is stepping into epic-awesome-action territory. He already did an amazing job with Hell Boy, so yeah…this is going to be a monumental flick!
Oh, and to much surprise, Charlie Day (Always Sunny in Philly) has a role (a big one) in the film. Looks like he is moving on up in Hollywood.
Within the past few years, it appears that Superhero movies are becoming the expected; a summer doesn’t pass without an action-packed superhero blockbuster. With so many movies in the script stages, pre-production, production, and post-production, it’s hard to keep up with the films coming out, but SuperheroHype.com has got us covered. And it was all thanks to them that I saw the brand new emotional/epic trailer for Man of Steel.
Hitting theaters June 14th, 2013, Man of Steel is a fresh take on Superman. Considering the failure of the last Superman movie, this film is a great revive of the legendary character. The Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) directed film began production in 2008, but now it’s finally ready for comic fans worldwide to get excited about. And with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy) as producer…its bound to be epic!
Watch the new trailer below. The film has a great cast: “Henry Cavill in the title role, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El.” Wikipedia
Yesterday, the Web’s hottest movie news was followed up with a brand new trailer of Neil Blomkamp‘s Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. The District 9 director has unveiled his sophomore motion-picture film, and the buzz generated so far makes this film look quite promising.
Truly, there is often no better way to provoke thought than a sci-fi/futuristic film that gives us a glimpse of a war-torn future where the gap between the haves and the have nots in monumental…universal even. Elysium does exactly that, if not more.
Elysium takes us to the year 2154 and shows us that the privileged (the damn elite) live on Elysium, a planet of their own, while the poor and average-joes and janes are stuck on a disgusting war torn, impoverished earth. In comes Matt Damon, the average-joe who gets genetically modified and fitted with some bad-ass tech in order to take on all of Elysium and restore humanity to equilibrium.
Sounds kind of epic? Well, it is. The premise reminds me The Fifth Element, but of course it’s quite different. Yet, it does involve an action hero (Damon) taking on a bunch of bad guys in order to save humanity. Bruce Willis did the same (and always does in most of his films,) so I’m anxious to check Elysium out when it hits theaters August 9, 2013.
If you’ve never seen Kick-Ass, then you need be slapped! Nah, I’m just pulling your leg. It’s really not that serious, but I must say that Kick-Ass was a great film. The entire vibe of it reminded me of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and it’s a movie that I could watch over and over again. But upon the news, posters, and brand new red band trailer, it appears that the sequel, Kick-Ass 2, will be making it’s way to theaters August 2013 (July 19th for UK cinemas.)
So with that being said, no need to keep watching the old one; I’m pumped and ready for Kick-Ass 2. Hit Girl and Kick-Ass have teamed up to deliver some major damage. But this time around they’ve got a team of “heroes” with some hilarious names, and these “heroes” are ready to deliver some outrageous blows.
Watch the trailer below. Trust me, I think it’s going to be as great (if not better) than the first film!
