True Life | Bears, Chubby Chasers, & Fat Fetishism

I always make sure that I never miss an episode of MTV’s True Life. I actually have my DVR set to record old & new episodes just so I don’t miss anything. True Life always has some very interesting topics they cover, and it’s nice to get a glimpse into someone’s lifestyle.

Every episode usually covers an interesting topic, but last night was a new episode that followed two men who are self-proclaimed chubby chasers. Pause. Really? Like when I first read the description I was taken aback. I’ve heard of how popular the Bear community is, but I was a little caught off guard by this Black guy from Harlem who only dates overweight women because they tend to be nicer & have less drama. Wow, how ignorant can you be?

I guess the best place to start in addressing last night’s episode is to discuss what bears are. Basically in the gay community there is a sub-culture of chasers (typically skinny men) who chase after bears (overweight men with body hair) The chasers prefer to be with a bear because they feel protected, but the bigger the guy is weight wise, the more turned on the men get. So when you hear “bigger is better” in the bear community, they are referring to mass & overall weight.

It wasn’t my first time hearing about bears, but I couldn’t believe that the guy actually didn’t want his boyfriend to lose weight, even if it meant a variety of health problems. He was actually a little disappointed that his boyfriend would have to lose weight and couldn’t remain as heavy as he was. But in the end he realized that his health was more important, so he could lose a little weight but still needed to be heavy. The heavier he was and the bigger his belly turned him on. Um….yeah….weird….

I guess everyone has their preferences, but why would you want to date someone that big who is risking their health? I’ve never in my life dated someone that was obese. I couldn’t date someone who didn’t work out and take care of themselves; might as well walk away, because I’m just not down for an unhealthy lifestyle. I work out 5 to 6 days a week, I monitor what I eat, and I always make sure I’m active. If I’m not at the gym running, then I’m on my $200 spin bike in my room sweating up a storm. Staying active is a passion of mine, and I’m not even where I want to be yet. Still got a lot more hardcore cardio to do.

There is a difference between being chubby & overweight. Chubby is just like a little fat here & there, but overweight/obese is like a serious issue that has many health risks. Yet there are folks out there who date people just because of their size, kind of like the other guy profiled on last night’s episode. I mentioned him earlier in this post. Basically he’s this Black guy from Harlem who prefers dating overweight & big girls because they don’t come with drama, they are nice, and he finds them sexy. That’s just ignorant stereotyping. Not all big girls are nice & come without drama. Some big girls can be fake & bitches just like skinny chicks.

But I guess he did find that out on last night’s episode with this big girl (she was not cute at all & her voice irritated the hell out of me, so dumb & ditzy) named Ashley he was dating. She did porn in order to pay her bills and was preaching how she was independent & crap. Oh, shut up! They got into an argument, she slapped him a few times, and then walked off. The guy flew back to New York (she lived in Los Angeles) and decided not to talk to Ashley again, but still only date big girls. Wow, can you say low self-esteem? Dating big girls just to make yourself feel better.

Sadly enough I’ve met a few losers that prefer dating overweight & “big girls” because they come with less drama, they know how to treat a man, and they know how to cook. I’m serious, guys have actually told me this. They have this fat fetish for women that are fat. Not only is it a stereotypical approach involved, but they also are extremely turned on by fat women. It’s a fat fetishism. Some guys didn’t want to date me because I wasn’t big (thank God I’m average with curves,) but I’m glad they didn’t want to date me. I couldn’t date a man that ignorant to prey on big women just because of a stereotype he has.  I especially couldn’t date a feeder. Ewww. Guys that just constantly want you to eat & get bigger (yeah, some sick dudes out there.)Date someone for what you learn about them, not because they are big so right off the back you assume certain things about their character.

Chubby chasers & the bear community are just very interesting. I don’t think the bear community necessarily has to deal with a stereotype of what a big man can do for them, but rather it’s just a sexual preference.  Somehow they get really turned on by all that body fat. But as far as men, like the guy on True Life, they date big women because their internal insecurity and these ignorant stereotypes they have of big women. That’s just a hot mess. And the sad thing is I know a few guys like that, but that also explains why I don’t talk to them that much. It’s just sad how they chase these big women only based on a stereotype. SMH….get some balls and a self-esteem, maybe then you could actually learn how to relate to women and not prey on girls that might also have low self-esteem issues.

If you want to know more about this True Life episode & fat fetishism, then feel free to go watch the entire episode on MTV’s website. Click here.

Awesomesauce | An Epic Beard Punch

Whew, I’m so glad the weekend is finally here. This week has just been so hectic, and I only have one left week of vacation before classes start up. I have a lot on my plate this semester, but summer session should be a breeze. Hopefully it goes by quick so I can finally graduate college at the end of July and move on with my life.

I’ve just been chilling out trying to relax before classes start, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped my hunt for finding cool things.  Oh, before I forget. Tonight is a new episode of  Saturday Night Live with Charles Barkley, so be sure to tune in. If not, then as usual I will post the funny videos tomorrow morning. Just had to put that reminder in there.

Anyways, so the other day I was perusing a blog I like to read and ran across this video called Beard Punch. When I first saw the still image for the video, I was curious what exactly the video was going to entail. Of course I had an idea it was going to be about a beard and someone being punched, but I had no idea that someone would actually punch the beard off. Crazy, right?!

Its a short hilarious video about this girlfriend coming home and finding that her man still hasn’t shaved his beard. So they have this mini-epic battle, and in the end…well she punches his beard off. Maybe next time he’ll remember to shave. Haha, it’s a mess. His beard actually didn’t like too bad, and I don’t mind a beard on a guy, but I prefer a Rico suave mustache.

Ladies, perhaps you’ve had those moments where you wished your man would just shave his beard off. Well, hopefully you didn’t have to resort to drastic measures and enact an epic beard punch. But apparently sometimes you’ve just got to take matters in your own hands and knock all the hair follicles off someones face.

Do You Know the Code? | MTV2′s ‘Guy Code’ & Brotips

The only time I ever watch MTV2 is when I’m in search of music videos or random programming that makes no sense. Seriously, some of the shows on MTV evoke a major WTF? I mean come on now, Parental Control? That show is just so stupid! The only good thing about it is I guess a few good laughs here and there, but even then I’d much prefer True Life. That is my show! The best show MTV has ever produced. That is until they introduced a hot new show called Guy Code.

When it comes to MTV’s programming and television shows there are only a few shows I really like. I love Made, True Life, Friendzone, and now I love Guy Code. Friendzone is a show that MTV introduced in the past few months and basically it’s people trying to get out of the friend zone and telling their friend how much they care about them. It’s a pretty interesting show, and it catches my attention because I’ve never been in that zone. I’m usually putting a guy in a friend zone or I just straight up tell him that I like him, so yeah, what’s up? Haha, I’m pretty blunt when it comes to my emotions.

Being in the friend zone can suck, but one thing I hate is when a guy doesn’t know the “code.” You know females we have protocols aka codes that we abide by in order to make the right impression, be a lady, and remain calm under pressure or under the glance of an attractive man. You don’t ever want to look uncool or just desperate. There is an art to every social action. Well, that same principle of codes applies to men as well. Men have certain things they know to do and not to do in order to remain “cool” and not appear like a psycho or lame.

MTV2′s Guy Code is a basically a show that discusses the codes/rules. Whats acceptable and what isn’t. When drinking becomes embarrassing and the amount of back hair that is acceptable. There are just certain things that men should & need to know in order to live a fulfilled life that is copacetic amongst their bros and the ladies. I mean it’s not like every code on the show should be followed, but the commentary provided is so hilarious! Even if you don’t like the codes you can at least crack up at the insight of comedians, celebrities, and other pop culture commentators.

I never had a reason to really watch MTV2 until seeing three episodes of Guy Code. It’s definitely going to be a show that I won’t be missing. It’s just super funny! But even if I do miss an episode, I can always go to MTV.com and watch full episodes and hilarious clips.

So if you haven’t seen Guy Code, then head on over to the site and learn some of the codes. While you’re at it, head over to http://www.brotips.com/ Now that is one hilarious website! It’s filled with a bunch of tips that are totally worth passing around. Bros need to stick together and share the tips. Haha, so go check it out! But most importantly, take everything in with a grain of salt and remember, dude don’t be that guy….You know, that guy.

Unraveling the Mystery of the Ps3 Exclusive Title ‘The Last of Us’

Thursday is finally upon us. This has been an extremely busy week for me thus far, but I’m looking forward to finishing up my classes on Friday and enjoying my break. I don’t really have much planned for my break except for continuing to hit the gym like crazy, finalize and publish my book, and of course chill out and play video games. At the end of the day, I’m an artist, a writer, and a gamer.

I will always been a fanatic when it comes to video games, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m anxious to watch the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards on Saturday. I usually watch the awards show every year because I love video games, I love badass geeks that create the games I love so much, and it’s spectacular seeing what games are in the running for the Best Game of the Year. I’m not really sure which title will win game of the year, but I’m anxious to see which title will take the award home for best multi-player game. On the website you can vote for your favorite game, and the choices for best multi-player are: Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Notice a pattern there? Everything seems to be the third game in series (well not for the entire COD franchise, but in the Modern Warfare division it’s the third game.) I happen to own all three of those games and I’d have to say that Gears of War 3 would be my top choice, but I play my Ps3 online all the time and not my 360, so then I’d have to go with Battlefield 3. The ending sucked, but the graphics are insane!

A lot of great games came out this year, so we will just have to wait and see what games take home awards this Saturday. This year will be Spike TV’s ninth annual celebration of all things video games, but it will also be the day in which the mystery behind “The Last of Us” will be revealed. Have you heard about this upcoming title? If you’ve got a baffled look on your face, then fret not. Honestly, there isn’t much about information surroudning this game. The only thing we know so far is that the game is a PS3 exclusive title, it’s rumored to have an amazing engine, and it has something to do with ants, an outbreak, and a quarantine. That’s really not much information to work with, but the game is still creating quite the buzz. Oh, did I forget to mention that even the developer is a mystery. Yeah, we have no idea who is even developing this game.

The lack of information and the “hush, hush” tactics involved in marketing this game are what make it such a big deal. It’s like a striptease (a good one, not a cheap drunk one.) The website keeps taking off one piece of clothing at a time, which will hopefully lead to the full exposé on Saturday at the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards. It’s exciting not knowing what this game is about, but the screenshot below does look quite promising. Believe it or not, that’s actually a screenshot from the game. Mind-blowing….seriously, my mind was just blown. That shot indicates that these ants and quarantine must take place somewhere sunny and pleasant, but then it’s immediately turned into hell by gigantic mutant ants. That could be the story, right?

Ugh…I want to know what this game is about! People have been rambling back and forth on message boards that it could be zombies, but eh doubt it. “The Last of Us” doesn’t feel like a zombie first-person game, it just doesn’t. I’m not going to sit here and assume because my mom always taught me when you assume you make an ass out of u+me, but I will say that ants and zombies don’t go together. It goes against the rules of horror tactics. Giant ants and zombies? Nope, that’s not allowed, it’s just not right, especially for a game. But I have no idea what this game is about, but I tell you what, the entire world will hopefully know on Saturday December 10th, 2011. So if you are curious about this uber mysterious title in the works, then be sure to check out the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards. And if there is any chance this ends up being a lame game (I highly doubt it) then at least you can see if some of your favorite titles of the year take home any awards.

Winning an award is always good I suppose. Yet at the end of the day it’s really about each individual gamers preference and not the industry leaders. So don’t be upset if you thought a game was totally epic and it doesn’t even get nominated. Sometimes all you can do is just hold your own video game awards with your buddies and nominate it your damn self. Yup, that works. But remember it should be in all fun and games, so don’t get all nerdy and upset over the games chosen. Anyways, the best thing about the VGA’s is the World Premieres. Now that’s is what it’s all about! I can’t wait to see what they have in store this year. It’s going to be epic! *fingers crossed*
