End your night/start your day with a heavy dosage of truth from one of my favorite rappers, Napoleon Da Legend. You’ve heard me go on and on in the past about how epic his rhymes are, but yes, it’s the truth; NDL is a methodical wordsmith that needs to be heard!
His latest music video is raw, real, and some deep conscious lyricism. Simply titled, “Wise Men,” the cut is one of those songs that you should listen to and perhaps take note! Featuring Sean Price, this is a great collaboration that has a cool conceptual music video to match.
Watch the video below and be sure to show some mad love to Napoleon Da Legend.
Once in a blue moon I post hip-hop here on ThinkSoul25.com, but that’s mainly because I’m not into a lot of the commercial hip-hop that is on the airwaves. I love hip-hop, but I prefer oldschool or underground hip-hop that is conscious, or at least true to it’s roots with an earthy vibe that has true musicianship.
Some rappers just spit out random words and catchy hooks, but then you’ve got artists that pay attention to the art of lyricism…artists such as Kendrick Lamar. I’m definitely a fan of Kendrick Lamar and his new music video for “Poetic Justice” featuring Drake is worth checking out.
You’ve probably heard the song, which samples Janet Jackson “Anytime, Anyplace” and usually I hate when rappers sample classic tracks that shouldn’t be touched, but this one gets my seal of approval. I’m digging it, and I like the video too. Oh, and I’m so anti-Drake, so for me like this song/video, it must be good. LOL
Yo, this video is hilariously dope! Saw it a few days ago, and I know it’s not normally what I post, but I’m full of surprises.
Ester Dean is legit and this beat goes hard! Peep the video below for her track, “Bam Bam.”
Does the name Gajah ring a bell? Well I’d hope so! He’s one of my favorite LA-based emcees that has an innovative, poetic, and overall fresh approach to “hip-hop.” I’ve blogged about him quite a bit in the past, and today I’m proud to share with you some new music called “Generation Fresh.”
“Generation Fresh” is a track off Acid Reign’s (Gajah’s apart of the group) new EP, Hype Kills. Released on Acid Lab Records, Hype Kills is a free EP that fuses the creativity of Acid Reign with the vision of Awkward, a producer from the UK. According to ALR, “This EP features Special Guest appearances by Upword, Express Fresh, Myk Mansun and Lyricon. Also includes a special remix by Brooklyn based producer/record man Willie Green.”
Be sure to get your hands on the EP, but you should really do yourself a creative favor and watch the dope video for Acid Reign’s “Generation Fresh.” The video was filmed at this guy’s house who has collected 40 years of awesomeness. I mean from classic toys to random signs and memorabilia, this guy has everything! You’d have to pause the video so many times just to let your eyes take in the awesomeness that his collection exudes. don’t stop the video, because you’ll miss out on Acid Reign’s dope lyrics.
Trust me, this song is legit!
