♥| Childish Gambino – ‘Sweatpants’ (Official Video)

childish gambinoYes, yes, yes! Childish Gambino has released visuals for his insanely dope track (all of his music is dope) “Sweatpants.”

Being that I am considered a “hipster” and like that “hipster/stoner/comedy” hip-hop, I’m totally a fan of Childish Gambino and in the past I’ve ranted about it on this blog.

So, ya know his album Because The Internet is OUT NOW (you can stream it on Spotify,) and he’s also on tour doing a lot of shows (which are like probably SOLD OUT because he’s awesome.) :)

Gosh, he seems like such a cool dude just to kick it with, play video games, party, and have geeky rants.

But I digress. Go ahead and check out the music video!

G-House | The Beatangers – ‘Get Up Everybody’ EP Teaser

artworks-000064162390-9pdfzr-t500x500

Amine Edge isn’t the only one keeping the G-House movement alive. With an affinity for all things house and that urban hip-hop vibe, The Beatangers are making gangsta moves with their new EP, Get Up Everybody.

Get Up Everybody is their first release on Kolombo’s LouLou Records and you too can be all gangsta when this release drops on December 12th (only a few days away!)

This is a wiicked good release and I’m totally giving it my full support. It’s got that old school hip-hop sound with that banging bass and house music arrangement. If you are a house music who digs hip-hop, then you’ll like, better yet, you’ll love this release. Continue reading

I Kinda Like It | Chris Brown x Kid Ink – Show Me

artworks-000027058298-t4mpoo-original

Despite the fact I have my occasional hipster antimainstream/pop culture moments, I actually enjoy most of the pop culture musings. While I absolutely CAN’T STAND Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian (major ewww fest) on the other hand I’ve got a lil’ love for Chris Brown.

Maybe it’s because my brother (Jamile McGee) is in his music video “Gimme That” and has worked with him on several occasions, as well as partying with him in Los Angeles, or perhaps it’s because I used to have a crush on Breezy; I’ve got a spot for him in my heart. As much as the kid effs up, he still has some dope music and legit dance moves that get him a pass in my book. Continue reading

Dosage of Truth | Napoleon Da Legend ft Sean Price – ‘Wise Men’

860267_10151561229360864_610125212_o
End your night/start your day with a heavy dosage of truth from one of my favorite rappers, Napoleon Da Legend. You’ve heard me go on and on in the past about how epic his rhymes are, but yes, it’s the truth; NDL is a methodical wordsmith that needs to be heard!

His latest music video is raw, real, and some deep conscious lyricism. Simply titled, “Wise Men,” the cut is one of those songs that you should listen to and perhaps take note! Featuring Sean Price, this is a great collaboration that has a cool conceptual music video to match.

Watch the video below and be sure to show some mad love to Napoleon Da Legend.  :)

Kendrick Lamar Debuts Visuals for ‘Poetic Justice’ featuring Drake [Official Music Video]

tumblr_mc7666Jil91r7f7q9o1_1350745952_coverOnce in a blue moon I post hip-hop here on ThinkSoul25.com, but that’s mainly because I’m not into a lot of the commercial hip-hop that is on the airwaves. I love hip-hop, but I prefer oldschool or underground hip-hop that is conscious, or at least true to it’s roots with an earthy vibe that has true musicianship.

Some rappers just spit out random words and catchy hooks, but then you’ve got artists that pay attention to the art of lyricism…artists such as Kendrick Lamar. I’m definitely a fan of Kendrick Lamar and his new music video for “Poetic Justice” featuring Drake is worth checking out.

You’ve probably heard the song, which samples Janet Jackson “Anytime, Anyplace” and usually I hate when rappers sample classic tracks that shouldn’t be touched, but this one gets my seal of approval. I’m digging it, and I like the video too. Oh, and I’m so anti-Drake, so for me like this song/video, it must be good. LOL :)

Ester Dean is legit and this beat goes hard! Peep the video below for her track, “Bam Bam.”
