Appearing to coin the terms “Unicorn Funk” and “Unicorn Disco,” Ride The Universe is a sweet production crew that brings forth the ultimate journey through disco house that will move your soul.
Ride The Universe is more than just great music, it’s a story, or more like a magical journey throughout the universe. According the the official website:
“Having Disco in your soul will draw other like minded individuals to you like moths to a flame, no matter how far across the universe apart you are. This is the story of four such people, and how they came to bring the funk to you.”
So if you’re down for the cause, then let’s go ahead and take a ride with Ride The Universe’s debut track, “A Little Better” featuring the vocals of Jane Elizabeth Hanley. Mind you, the track was released about 7 months ago on Electronic Rumors Compilation Volume 1, but the track is making a lot of noise right now thanks to Pat Lok’s “Venice Butch” Dub remix.
Pat Lok, a Vancouver-based producer, gives the original disco house track a nice dub work that is the perfect soundtrack for a night of dancing. Trust me, you’ll really want to take a nice “ride” after listening to this one. Thumpin bass + disco fusion + sexy vocals…what more could you want?
