New Webseries ‘The Book Club’ Has Comedy, Books, & Ninjas

Ever wondered what happens when a group of guys get together and decide to read books? Well the new web series The Book Club shows us what happens if you take four guys and bring them together to discuss “assigned” reading.

From the creator of the pop culture blog You Offend Me You Offend My Family (YOMYOMF), Justin Lin (Executive Producer for Fast & Furious franchise) brings us this hilarious new web series about bros reading books. But it’s more than just a bunch of guys reading books. The show has great moments of laughter, classic “bro” literature (no chick-lit in this book club,) and it even has ninjas. Yes, a show with ninjas.

The Book Club is a show starring: Danny Pudi (Community),Parvesh Cheena (Outsourced), Thomas Fowler (2 Broke Girls), and Chris Marrs (Hot In Cleveland). It’s a great cast and I’m glad to see Danny Pudi aka Abed from Community branching outside of Community and doing something new. Of course, I still love him on that show, but I do hope this The Book Club series gets a good following and doesn’t disappear anytime soon.

I started watching the first episode yesterday and I was immediately hooked! The comedic timing is perfect and it’s was super cool watching the guys fight ninjas. It all begins with this ancient relic that someone brings to the book club, and then out of nowhere these ninjas appear and start fighting the guys. All they wanted to do was read books, but I guess that isn’t going to happen…

So, if you’re looking for a funny mini web series to watch, then you should totally watch YOMYOMF’s new web show, The Book Club. These guys make book clubs look pretty badass!
