Let me let y’all in on a little secret: I was totally listening to Calvin Harris before he became mainstream here in the states. Yup, I was obsessed with I Created Disco and I kept trying to persuade folks that he was going to blow up big internationally. Well, I was right. The Scottish producer/DJ seems to be an international sensation now and everyone and their momma is teaming up with him on tracks.
Most of the collaborations are pretty good (although I really dislike the song with Ne-Yo), but I’m really loving the latest collaboration with Florence Welch (leading lady of Florence & The Machine) on an awesome track called “Sweet Nothing.”
“Sweet Nothing” has been out for quite some time, but a few days ago the official music video was released. I know, I know, I’m late on this one. But, it’s only been four days since the release, so…don’t be mad at me; better late than never. Cliche at best, but very true.
Other die-hard Calvin Harris fans have probably already seen the video, but if you haven’t, then you should watch it below. Seriously, watch it. It’s good for a few reasons:
- Calvin Harris pays some thugs to beat up Florence’s crappy boyfriend.
- Florence Welch looks hot in a suit!
- Duh, it’s Florence Welch. Amazing vocals…need I say more?
- Great upbeat tempo, but it’s not annoying trance-like sound.
- Calvin Harris + Florence Welch = Greatness!
