There have been a lot of songs that could easily be classified as “anthems of Summer 2012,” but German producer Zedd’s hit single “Spectrum” featuring Matthew Koma is surely worthy of being deemed an anthem. The song has been remixed a countless amount of times and it has been played in many of the major venues throughout the country, as well as the biggest clubs abroad.
With so much attention the song has been receiving, it’s about time that Zedd released a music. And rightfully so, he dropped the visuals for “Spectrum” a few days ago.
The video introduces us to an intergalactic love story between a human (male) and an alien (female.) It’s a cute video that has a nice magical vibe. Zedd could have probably went any direction he wanted with the video, but he choose the intergalactic theme for a reason:
“I wanted the video to capture the ever-changing energy and emotion of the song through real human feelings. It takes you on a journey through love, loss, contentment and anxiety. Musically, the chord progression I wrote captured the feeling and tension, unpredictability and the unknown. The video portrays this through a relationship between a man (human) and woman (alien) and the dynamics/excitement between the two of them.” -Zedd
