I haven’t been listening to a lot of dubstep lately, mainly because I’ve been listening to house, DNB, and synthpop 24/7. C’mon now, ya’ll know how much of a house junkie I am.

Yet, when I saw Mike Tompkins’ latest viral video featuring an insanely dope acapella version of Skrillex’s “Cinema” dubstep remix vs. Santigold’s “Disperate Youth”, I knew I just had to post the video. Duh, it’s Mike Tompkins, so you know it’s insanely dope.

The Canadian YouTube sensation never ceases to amaze viewers with his ability to create cool sounds using his voice, mouth, and cool technology. For this video, Mike used a projector and ableton live software to create the full effect of what an acapella dubstep video should look + sound like.

I’m a big fan of the original “Cinema” track, the Skrillex remix, and I like Santigold’s “Disperate Youth,” so in the end the video is a nice fusion of creativity. Ah, the power of creativity and the ability to remix. Gotta love it!
