Soulful house has the power gently wrap you in it’s arms and caress your mind, body, and soul. There is a song for every occasion, but then we are blessed with those delightful soulful house tracks that speak to the beauty of life.

Lately my life has been pretty hectic due to so many writing projects, senior year of college, and on my grind hitting the gym. It’s hard to find those moments in the day just to unwind. Moments to reflect. I find a sense of serenity when I’m able to finally have those moments where my thoughts can run wild. I grab my journal and begin to just jot down whatever comes to my mind. But I’m not a fan of complete silence, so there has to be music playing in the background to aid in the creativity.

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcast lately, and a beautiful track called “Beautiful Life” has been cycling throughout the soulful house circuit(even though it came out in February 2011.)It features the vocals of the talented Stephanie Cooke and it’s produced by Diephuis and Hanz Litz. The words of the song are quite simple. This simplicity allows for more personal reflection amongst the listeners. The flute also adds this dreamlike vibe to the song. It takes me back to my 8 years of playing flute in the band and playing along while listening to house. A flute can truly ease your mind and take away the stress. It’s difficult to listen to this track and be stressed out, it’s just not possible. Soulful house isn’t about stress, it’s about relaxing, getting into the groove, and letting your mind & body run wild.

Even though we all have bad, sometimes tragic days, we still have those days ahead of us that we can attempt to fill with happiness. Each day should be a step in finding our passions, turning frowns upside down, and reaching for a destiny that makes us feel as though life isn’t a waste. Each day I wake up and I thank the Lord for waking me up and giving me the opportunity to see another day. As I get closer to graduating from college, I just daydream about where I’m going to start, but not where I’m going to end up. I just let the journey flow, but I know I’m moving in the right direction. I’m heading towards a “Beautiful Life.”
