GTA V: Welcome Back to Cali

So ever since Battlefield 3 came out, I’ve been playing online whenever I get the chance. I love how amazing the graphics are, and the options of getting in helicopters, tanks, jets, and parachuting makes the multiplayer more interesting. It’s a pretty solid game, but I will admit I’m still a Call of Duty fan. I won’t be able to get my copy of COD:MW3 on the 8th, but on the 10th I’m going to head to the store and pick up a copy.

I’m a big fan of first person shooters, but I also love open world games such as Grand Theft Auto. I’ve been a huge fan of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto since playing GTA II, III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV. The fourth one had it’s hits and misses, but it still was a fun game to play. However, out of all the games in the GTA series I will say that San Andreas was the best. That game was so hood! Seriously, I loved every single aspect of that game and how it so depicted that gritty Southern Cali gang life. I used to get so caught up in the story, and along the way I was just having a blast playing as CJ.

I’m pretty sure other fans of the GTA franchise will agree that San Andreas was the best game in the series, which is why I’m not shocked that Rockstar is bringing us back to California in their upcoming title, Grand Theft Auto V. It has been announced that the next installment in the GTA series will take us back to Los Santos, which is the fictional depiction of Los Angeles. In the game San Andreas it was one of the areas you could check out, but the main focus of the game was San Andreas. In the press release for the new GTA V trailer, Rockstar noted that “Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside, and beaches in Rockstar’s largest and most ambitious game yet.”

They didn’t specifically mention San Andreas, but it is in the surrounding area of Los Santos; so my fingers in crossed and awaiting further details about the upcoming game. From what we know so far, it’s going to be “Rockstar’s largest and most ambitious game yet.” Alright know, that’s quite a promise! So hopefully they aren’t just relaying us with some fancy copy writing to hype up the game; this next GTA game will hopefully be better than the last. I’m not quite sure when it’s slated for release, but the trailer does make this game look promising. GTA has never been as wild and outside the box like the Saints Row series, but I’m still a fan of the Grand Theft Auto Franchise. Sometimes it’s just fun running around, hijacking hot rides, shooting flying rats,  and getting caught up in outlandish missions; that’s what GTA is all about!
